The staff and owners seem to think that their hotel is luxorious, fabulous and outstanding - Four Stars and all that. In reality it's a quite ordinary hotel. The reception and the yard in front of the hotel sure are very nice and pretty, but don't expect anything extraordinary when it comes to your hotel room. The rooms are quite... more

The twinroom we stayed in was not luxuary at all. For a 4 star hotel you can expect more. In the building we stayed in there was no lift, no internetaccess, no safetybox etc. When we checked out the receptionist told us that we had used the minibar, that wasn´t true, and luckely for us, we didn´t had to pay... more

We (me and my wife) have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, and everything was just perfect. To reach this hotel we took the bus nr 22 from the airport (0.4lvl p.p),and stepped of just 50 m from the hotel. The building looked great from outside, and it was just opposite the museum of the latvian occupation and the house of... more

Stayed at the Garden Palace Hotel Riga on a sightseeing trip in March. I was a bit concerned about Riga regarding some of the Riga forum discussions – but it is a wonderful city and would recommend it. The hotel is very pleasant and I had a single room which was very nice. The decor has an old world feel... more

The purpose of of my trip to riga was a stag party so i wasnt expecting anything glamorous, not having booked the hotel myself, We arrived early on thursday evening having done the 8km cab ride from the airport, the front of the hotel does not look anything special but once through the archway you arrive into the lobby which... more

3 males aged 24-26 Upon arrival, we were greeted by a receptionist that spoke perfect English. The lobby was immaculately clean and well decorated. We went to our romm a triple room on the 2nd floor. Basic enough with good sized bathroom and tv and fridge/minbar. The location of this hotel is perfect to discover Riga. Taxis nearby but you... more

Was very disappointed with what is supposedly a 4 star hotel. The lobby area is very fancy but does not reflect what it's like in the rest of the hotel. When we arrived Eminem was blaring out from a sound system somewhere, which was a bit bizarre (I quite like Eminem but not in a hotel lobby!). The reception staff... more

Very impressed with this modern, spotless, hotel which is in the old city and minutes walk to many of the most interesting attractions. I got a single room for Euro 65 per night. The room was a nice size and had an en-suite and television. It was bright and expensively furnished. Price included an excellent buffet breakfast with a large... more

Hhhmm, was expecting so much more. On arrival, we were greeted by indifferent staff. We opened the door to what can only be described as a box room! Two single beds and minimal furniture, with no air conditioning (it was over 25 degrees when we stayed and horribly hot in the room). We were not impressed and wondered how this hotel... more
