We stayed at the Tavira Inn for 5 nights in September before travelling on into Spain. It was our first visit to the Algarve and we wanted to see somewhere not overrun by tourism. As such, Tavira, and the Tavira Inn were perfect. Getting there was easy enough - we arrived by train from Faro and recognised Sebastiao who was... more

we chose the Tavira Inn for its more personal nature to mix socially with Sebastio the proprietor as well as the local people. Picture this: whitewashed walls, red brick tiles, roaming ivy and a a myriad of greenery and plants flourishing outside that here in the UK would only survive in a conservatory! A calm, peaceful ambiance, nestling into the... more

This is my third visit so I obviously appreciate both its location just outside the centre of Tavira and its pricing. Better for couples or solo travellers and Sebastiao knows all the places to eat and visit more

Returning this summer to the oasis that is Tavira Inn, was as welcoming as coming home! The owner, Sebastiao, has opened up his house and unobtrusivley greets each and every visitor with his impeccable taste and generous hospitality. The rooms are cool and comfortable: even in August there was no need for the optional air conditioning. The outdoor space is... more

There was no one to meet us when we arrived. Sebastiao arrived about 15 minutes later and showed us to our room. He told us we had to be very careful about noise- particularly the "clinking" of glasses as sound carried to the other rooms. The train roared by overhead. The beach was a 15 minute ferry ride from the... more

We wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay in Tavira and what a wonderful time we had at the Tavira Inn and what a great host you are Sebastio. We wanted to say also that if the Tavira Inn has rooms available it is absolutely worth a visit. The best holiday we have ever had - we shall... more

Arriving at the hotel and to be welcomed as a long time customer - that’s no dream, that’s reality at “Tavira Inn”. The hotel-manager Sebastiao realises this with his openminded behaviour. The house is a great surprise with it’s tricky architecture, the pool on a platform and many plants around. The rooms are friendly and useful with stylish decorations. Everything... more

The location is excellent, very quiet and only 5 min on foot to the centre. Breakfast is not served in the accommodation, but the cafe is only 5 min away. The landlord has a nice sea-water pool outside which is really good. The rooms are excellent, with a sense for decoration and arts. The railway which runs directly above the... more

Tavira is a nice town and Tavira Inn is a very nice place to stay at. The owner, Sebastiao, is a great guy who will help you whenever you need it. The place has got a nice terrace with a pool with salt water. It's situated next to a river and a bridge on which a train passes by every... more

I would heartily recommend Tavira Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing break in this wonderful area. Its main attraction is that it is so quiet (few rooms - and ignore the nearness of the train line on the photos above the wonderful pool; it simply doesn't impinge). The host/owner is charmingly friendly without being at all intrusively so. You... more
