I've stayed at Bayview Backpackers twice now, its an amazing hostel just outside Picton with free sea-kayaking and bikes to get around on. Really enjoyed kayaking around the Marlborough sounds, opposite the hostel. Peaceful chilled-out atmosphere and really friendly owner Steph. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! more

Bayview is a slightly out-of-the-way hostel, being in waikawa bay rather than Picton itself, but I was after some peace and quiet.
