Best hostel I stayed at in New Zealand. They accommodated a late check-in, baked scones the next morning, had a hot tub, cool cats and an aviary. We picked fresh figs off a tree to compliment our breakfast. Free Wi-Fi, super clean. Ten minutes from both Interisland ferries. Nothing bad to say!

Probably the best backpacker in the South Island. Good view over Picton, spa, pool table, free wifi and also free breackfast! Clean and spacious. Very friendly and helpful staff. What more could you ask?

I booked ahead and was picked up in a minibus from the train station (a free service which also drives you where you need to go whenever you need, when you're leaving). This jaccuzi, that was all I needed :) I came from the ferry, 5 min. walk and there was this paradise! Good view over Picton harbour and so friendly host. Free breakfast, free wifi. You just know when people have a hostel because they love it, and not only to make money out of it. Indeed rest in peace :)

Great accommodation, clean, friendly, plenty of space for food storage and cooking with fully equipped kitchen, generous free breakfast. Free wifi and internet. Walking distance of supermarket or fish and chip shop. Beautiful new ensuite double room. I would thoroughly recommend this hostel.

This smallish hostel is situated overlooking the Picton harbour, well kept garden area with loungers available for your pleasure. Excellent facility and well-run. Gordon picked us up at the ferry and was the consumate host. I don't think there's much that could be added to the operation: clean, efficient, quiet, walking distance to the town centre, free breakfast; what more could you ask? I'm 60+ so while I'm flexible, I like my creature comforts, and the Tombstone had them.
