We stayed here for one (very rainy) night in April and found Sequoia Lodge to be everything we needed. There were 6 in our group so we booked out an entire dorm room, everything was great - the only thing I would say is that the top bunk in the middle of the room needed a side to it -... More

The backpackers had a separate parking lot for a few cars to fit in but it's not huge. Lots of perks include free spa, free unlimited wifi, free chocolate pudding and ice cream, and free parking. The dorms do not have locks or lockers in the room. The beds are fairly comfortable and are wooden bunks so they do not... More

I loved my stay in this hostel! The dorms was perfect, the beds very good and I loved that they didn't move when someone else was going to bed or turning around!! Everything is very clean!! The toilets and showers were perfect, the kitchen very spacious and clean with a nice common room connected to it. The owners/staff are very... More

We don’t usually stay in backpacker lodges but the Sequoia looked OK and was reasonable priced, so we gave it a go choosing an en suite cabin. It was fine. Not very big but sufficient for our needs. There was a good communal kitchen with everything anyone could want. A lovely bonus was free chocolate pudding an ice cream every... More

Although its hidden at Nelson Square, around 10 min walk from harbour. They offer free pickup service which is quite convenient. Kitchen is the highlight. It's the best equipped kitchen I ever had. Herbs, oil, all kinds of sauce are provided freely in this hostel. Every night, they serve delicious chocolate pudding with icecream. Everything is well organised. I had... More

The Sequoia Lodge has both dormitory rooms and double rooms with ensuite. The staff are very friendly and helpful , meeting the ferry at Picton port if requested and also with advice about the area and attractions. Phone calls in the area are free. Wifi is available although some rooms are too distant to pick up the signal but can... More

We based ourselves for a week at this backpackers and really enjoyed it. They have free unlimited wifi, lots of comfy places to sit and a large kitchen. It's a very relaxed atmosphere with people of all ages, including families, staying here. We had an ensuite double room which was very clean. And of course: free chocolate pudding every night... Loved this place, it had a really good vibe. The room was nice and simple, pretty good for $72. It was a double/ensuite. The kitchen was excellent, very well equipped. And they put on free chocolate pudding for us, apparently they do it every night. It was amazing.

Great kitchen, really substantial with lots of cooking equipment and utensils. And the free chocolate pudding and ice-cream served in the evening - a real danger for the people staying for long periods than we did! The site is via peaceful, colourful, and welcoming. There's also a lovely hot tub that you can book for a private 30 minute slot... More

Exceeded our expectations! Free courtesy van was waiting when we arrived at Picton Ferry Terminal followed by a few minutes drive to the Lodge. We had a twin room with ensuite bathroom which was all spotless, clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and friendly and it's a short 5-10 minute stroll into town. In the evening the free chocolate... More
