Stayed here 5 nights. 2 days of sightseeing and 3 days attending a conference at the convention center. Location is very convenient to the convention center and a short walk to the Metro for getting around DC. I thought this was an above average Hampton Inn in terms of decor and room quality. Free breakfast was very good and included... more

We made a last minute decision to take an overnight trip to DC for our kids' first stay in a hotel and to visit the Smithsonian. AAA rate of $224 was a little more than we wanted to pay, but after driving past some of our other cheaper choices on the way into DC, it was well worth the money.... more

The hotel location is not very attractive nor well kept by the city. The building looks old and faded from the outside. The front of the building does not have a good recessed space to park and unload. The inside lobby looks nice, but due to the unattractiveness of the outside, and the unprofessional attitude of the staff, it ends... more

Right across from NPR and a quick walk to the convention center and metro stop. Nice clean rooms. TV, mini-fridge, microwave and an electronic safe. Good size bathrooms. more

I attended a conference at the Conference Centre. The hotel is only 8 minutes easy walk from the Centre. 5 minutes' walk to Safeway for buying whatever I needed. 10 minutes walk to the China Town for good food. 25 minutes walk to the National Mall. Nice free breakfast. Nice free coffee. Nice room. Friendly staff. Great value for money.... more

Even this hotel is off the beaten path, it is only 2 blocks south of a Metro station and better yetr, only 1 block East of a Circulator bus which can take you to Georgetown for dinner or to the Mall to do the museums, etc. Cost is only $1.00 or 50 cents for seniors. Staff is great and breakfast... more

I stayed here for four nights in April 2009, and found the location great. We were able to walk to most places, and it's also very convenient for the Subway too. The hotel staff were friendly, and helpful. One of the real plus points, was the complementary breakfast with a great choice of food. Coffee was available the whole day... more

Conveniently located 5 minutes from the subway stop Gallery Place and Chinatown. Lots of good eats around the area (Chinese, Fuddruckers, Ruby Tuesday, Pubs) and shopping (Safeway Grocery & Clothing stores). It is within walking distance to the National Portrait Gallery and Ford Theatre. Not terribly close for walking to the National Mall area, but at the room price it... more

I also was assigned a smoking room, as well as a colleague of mine--despite our contract specifically stating non-smoking rooms. Was told that there were no other rooms available for tonight, but, that they would ionize the rooms while we were at dinner. Got back and the room now smells of air freshener over cigarette smoke. Ugh! more

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn. We booked the room directly through Hampton Inn and prepaid. The morning of our arrival, I called and reconfirmed that we would be arriving late around 1AM and that we had a King/Non-Smoking room. Upon arrival, we were told we couldn't check in until the computer came back up. After... more
