The most terrible hotel I ever saw. I left within first 15 minutes of my stay. From the noises coming from an adjacent room as well as in and out traffic I suspect that some illicit activity was going on. Particularly given the reputation of neighborhood where the B&B is located you can imagine what type of an activity it... more

We had a fantastic stay at the William Lewis House. The house itself is beautifully decorated, clean and welcoming. The shared bathrooms are spacious and well maintained, whist the bedrooms are very comfortable. The breakfast was superb, with a wide choice of fruit, cereals and also homemade quiche/cobblers/muffins etc. David, the host, was very genial, helpful and took an interest... more

I had a lovely stay here, it was very quiet, only saw other guests at the very communal, home made breakfast. The owner, Dave, was easy to talk to and helpful. The room had character, the bed was comfortable, and the shared bathroom was very nicely done, as was the rest of the house, with period decorations and style. A... more

We were told that there would be a "Happy Hour" at the Inn, during the weekends (Friday and Saturday). It happened Friday evening, but Saturday...the owner was no where to be seen. However, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. more

It is expensive, but much cheaper than most of the hotels in washington. And they have room left (hotels in washington were almost all full during our stay). It is 5 minutes walk from the U street where you can get the subway. Or eat : lots of restaurant on that U street : Ethiopian, chili, 7 eleven... It is... more

My lover and I stayed at the William Lewis House in Washington from January 11th to the 15th, a week before the big day in Washington. The house is very quaint, in a nice residential neighborhood with some neat period furnishings and a very attentive, dedicated owner, David. It is within easy walking distance to DuPont Circle and the major... more

My wife and I stayed a total of 11 nights in three rooms which were in two adjacent properties. The Victorian properties are tastefully decorated and furnished. The B & B is located in a relatively safe area only 10 mins walk from U Street Metro and a 25 min walk to the White House. There is a wide variety... more

Beautifully restored house, very comfortable. Good Food. However the list of rules are extensive with extra charges for disobeying them. Reminders around every corner on what you are not allowed too, this had a negative impact on my stay. Didn't feel at home, Made me feel I was imposing on the owners. Fees for losing your key, is min $400.... more

My husband and I stayed here for a night and were very impressed. It was very quiet and the perfect temperature (cool and refreshing to come into from the hot weather outdoors but not freezing from too much AC). We had a really nicely decorated and comfortable room overlooking the street and convenient parking in the back. Shared bathroom was... more

The William Lewis House leads in value for money spent. First it hits all the basics - it's clean, comfortable, well maintained, has wireless access and near public transit. Then it pushes it up a notch. It comprises side by side brownstones joined by a garden in the back. The decor is casually antique and the public rooms are very... more
