This is my 2nd night of a 3-night stay for business. The office I'm working in is a 4-minute walk, so that's wonderful. The breakfast buffet is quite expensive, $16.25 for food that was simply mediocre. Dinner, on the other hand, wasn't overpriced. I had seafood linguini for $21. The only thing is, it wasn't fantastic by any stretch. One... more
We stayed at the Holiday Inn - Washington Capitol for a long weekend with our 2 small children. It wasn't cheap but TOTALLY WORTH IT. Especially when you take into consideration that the Zoo and Museums are free! The food at the Bistro was WONDERFUL; we suggest the dinner buffet ($20 and a bargin). The room and pool were very... more
The Hotel was a typical generic international hotel chain, very comfy, reasonably priced and a fantastic location. Easy walk to most attractions including, Capitol, Smithsonian museums, Washington monument, Lincoln memorial, very close to Metro. Be sure to visit the Air & space museum, absolutely mind blowing. We loved the location, thank you Holiday Inn. more
The hotel is okay at best. It is clean, and is near "the mall." Parking at the hotel is 30 dollars a day but you can come and go as you please. We parked across the street at "coloinal parking" garage for 18 a day and 10 on the weekend or additional charges would apply. They have a SMALL rooftop... more
5 weeks ago, we made our reservations online. We should have known there might be problems, when we phoned 2 weeks ago to try and request a room at the front of the building, away from the railroad tracks we saw on google map, and the woman who answered told my husband, "I don't know what you want-transfer", which connected... more
I booked this hotel based on the reviews. I used points to book a 4 night stay. While the location was very convenient, I would NOT have paid $260 a night for the room! It was dated and worn. We faced the railroad tracks, and while some reviewers said it didn't bother them, it did us! The trains started blowing... more
This hotel is located within easy walking distance of several Metro stations, and is very close to the National Mall, stores, restaurants & Smithsonian. The hotel is very modern, has good decor and rooms, and spacious bathrooms. The rooms look like they've been remodeled in the past year or so, and you can't beat the location. Their is a Starbuck's... more
I stayed at the HI for business in mid-May. The rooms were dated, but they were clean and functional. The staff was pleasant. No complaints there. There are no restaurants nearby for eating after 6PM or so. If you want to eat someplace nice and away from the hotel, you will need to walk to the Metro station. It's a... more
This place is very well located for tourists – it is a 5 minute walk from the National Mall (eg where the Smithsonian museums are located) and also 5 minutes from a rail station. The rooms were comfortable and clean. One of the rooms slept an adult and 2 children (with 1 child on a rollaway) and was cramped but... more
