You can walk to almost everything! There is a coffee shop next to Filene's (one block away) that is reasonable and good food. We asked for a quiet room on lower floor, and received it. Get tickets for the Washington monument, the elevator ride is worth it. Be prepared for lots of security checks to all attractions. Annoying.........but necessary. Tickets... more

I stayed with my husband & son over Columbus weekend. The view from our room was amazing! The hotel service was great and the breakfast buffet(which was included with our rate) was unbelievable. We parked the car using the Valet which was fine for us because we walked everywhere. Everything is within walking distance. We saw all the monuments and went... more

We stayed here over Columbus Day weekend. We could not have asked for a better location. We were able to walk to most of the sites as well as the museums. Room was fine but a bit dark - and the 'view' was of other parts of the building. more

Took a stab in the dark and booked this hotel blindly using Priceline. We ended up getting our room for about 40/night less than the going rate. This hotel is blocks from the Mall, White House, etc. Based on the hotel star rating I had I expected a little bit more. But based on the room rate, I can't complain.... more

The J W Marriott is a beautiful, clean hotel with a great location and a high price. I was happy to pay that nightly price but I quickly found out that every little thing is an extra charge. We pulled up and the valet let us out of cab and loaded our bags onto the cart and got us to... more

The J.W. Hotel in Washington D.C. is in a prime location- close to many major DC attractions, as well as the Metro Station. The hotel is on-par with many Marriots, but the JW brand brings it just a step above. The rooms are standard Marriots- great linens, good pillow variety, nice soap, shampoo, etc. There's a very expensive mini-mini-bar. The... more

My parents stayed a Friday and Saturday night at something over $300 per night for their room. We stayed just Saturday night at $179 for the night, including breakfast for 2 on Sunday morning. Also, the parking is valet only; you can't go back and forth to your car at all. Keep that in mind as you are packing and... more

this is an incredibly expensive business hotel with a great location. other than the hotel immediately across the street, there really isn't a better location for sightseeing than this one. if you learn how to snake you way through the attached shopping center, you can easily get to other restaurants and the metro without venturing outside but for a few... more

We spent 5 days/4 nights at the JW Marriott with our 2 teenage children and would highly recommend it. We were within walking distance to most attractions (National Mall, Smithsonian museums, Bureau of Engraving, Washington Monument). It is located just a few blocks from the Metro which we used to go to Arlington National Cemetary and Georgetown. Although the rooms... more
