I chose the L'enfant because of its location, even though I was lead to expect less than great accomodations from reading internet reviews. My father is in a wheelchair and wanted to see the WWII Memorial and the Holocaust Museum. L'Enfant is placed beautifully for these sites and the mall. The internet reviews talked about the hotel being dated, in... more

I must say, for the amount of travel I do for my job, I generally have good luck with the hotels that I stay in. Unfortunately, I cannot say that for the L'enfant Plaza. From the moment I checked in, I had issues. I ended up checking in at about 10:30 in the evening - upon receiving my room key,... more

My in-laws, husband and I stayed here and I was less than impressed. The rooms need renovating and the service was poor. I paid for the "Executive King" room which was supposed to include complementary breakfast buffet ($17.00 a person otherwise), robes and slippers. When we checked into our room, there were no slippers, no robes, and no way to... more

My family and I stayed at this hotel from 21 - 25 May 2009. I was impressed right away when I arrived early to the hotel (10am) and they had a room ready for me. The room was clean and the maid service was extremely timely each morning. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The rooftop pool area is very nice,... more

We got a great deal online for this hotel. At $99/night, it was great place to stay. As other reviews suggested, it is in serious need of a remodel. There were some water stains on the ceiling and cracks in the walls. The bed, however, was clean and comfortable. The best thing and the reason to stay here is the... more

I was with a group of 400. I think they took mean advantage of us because we paid 5 star rates and got a 2 star service. Unfriendly customer service. Housekeeping was very erratic. One day I had 6 towels and next day 1 towel !!! Furniture looked very old. Toilet tiles were worn out. However, if you can get... more

The hotel is very nice and we found the staff to be accomidating. The room was well kept and clean. Bathroom was a little dated, but didn't affect our stay. The location is two blocks from the mall which is great, however, it is in a business district; once the employees leave at 5 the shopping mall below closes and... more

The hotel is about a 15-20 minute brisk walk from the National Mall/U.S. Capitol area. Because it was conveniently located on a subway stop, it was easy transferring to/from the airport and getting around. The hotel itself is rather old so the bathroom fixtures and room decor were not very impressive. The beds were comfortable and the staff courteous. We... more

I have been staying at this hotel at a minimum of 4 times per year for the past 10 years. While an older hotel, there have been considerable renovations during the past 2 years. I enjoy the convenience of their restaurants, room service, and location to stores, shops, and other restaurants downstairs. Being just 2 stops on the Metro from... more

We just returned from a 3-night stay at L'Enfant Plaza, where we shared an adjoining room with friends. The hotel has some pros. It's within walking distance to the Smithsonian as well as the Mall and the wonderful Botanic Garden. The staff were friendly and responsive. The hotel is right on the Metro, which made commuting quite convenient. The cons,... more
