I knew I wanted to stay at the Palomar, but the cheapest rate averaged 250 dollars a night for my 3 night stay. Fortunately I got it on hotline for 120, though I had to make 2 bookings as it didn't come up for the 3 together. A phone call the week before ensured we got the same room throughout,... more

I spent many hours online searching for the best deal for flight and hotel in DC. This hotel was ranked 1st on Orbitz for best deal and ranked 3rd of 140 hotels on Trip Advisor. Nonetheless, I continued to spend hours researching other hotels before finally deciding on Palomar. The reviews were great and now, having just returned from there... more

I have always liked the Kimpton Brand of hotels, but the Palomar is in a league of its own. It's elegant without being stuffy, cool and classy, with an amazingly accomodating staff and an equally terrific restaurant. The rooms are enormous by hotel standards and the "spa king" room is awesome....the complimentary afternoon wine happy hour is just one of... more

The Palomar is a very good hotel in DC. They do try to accommodate you and some of the rooms are huge. The gym is good, but it needs more equipment. They have a big empty space and they could add another exercise bike so nobody has to wait. Also, if you're placed in a single you've drawn their "priceline"... more

we stayed at the Palomar for over 1 week in June. the "kimpton kids" stuff on their web site which talks about making kids welcome etc does not come through at this hotel at all at breakfast each day, the vibe i got from staff was akin to having just entered the restaurant with the horsemen of the appocolypse. we... more

Dear havekidsandtravel437, We appreciate the feedback regarding your recent stay at the Hotel Palomar as it will assist us in improving our kid friendly services in our restaurant Urbana, as well as throughout the rest of the hotel. You will find our outdoor heated pool a wonderful get away for the kids, complete with water toys. We also have popsicles...

My husband and I were in D.C. for a wedding in Dupont Circle and booked Hotel Palomar after reading the great reviews on TA. The room was huge, clean and modern. The staff was friendly and helpful (one of the doorman actually walked us to our restaurant down the street one night to be sure we found it!). The evening... more

My wife and I spent a wonderful "night away from the kids" at this hotel. This is a great hotel in a number of respects, including: 1. Well-appointed, spacious, and extremely comfortable rooms. We had the King bed/spa tub room, which is the size of a decent one bedroom NYC apartment. You could almost do laps in the spa tub,... more

I have mixed emotions about writing this review. I've stayed at numerous hotels across the country and am quite particular on what I like/don't like. So I don't want to sway people, just write my opinion. I stayed at this hotel in late May and the hotel was very busy, booming actually. The lobby seemed to always be busy, busy,... more

Hotel Palomar is the best. Nice-sized, modern, chic rooms at the most reasonable rate in DC. Urbana, the hotel's restaurant and wine bar, is awesome. I had my wedding reception here, and it was absolutely perfect. The staff was attentive and wonderful all weekend, and my husband and I spent two nights (upgraded!) in the presidential suite. I may spend... more

We just got back from DC. The hotel is very nice and renovated. We got upgraded to a an Executive King room but to be honest it felt quiet small. Staff was very nice but when we asked the concierge for help we didn't always get great answers. One reply was to check out the information center at the Mall... more
