Brilliant location, we spent some lovely days in Georgetown which is easy walking distance .... Got the tube to the smithsonion museums ... The River Inn is fine if you set your expectations to a barely 3 star hotel. The location is ok (near the Kennedy Center and Georgetown), the staff is friendly (if not a bit inept) and the price is right. The big sticking point is the room itself. Reasonably priced hotel near Foggy Bottom/George Washington University. Free internet access. Only drawback is that restaurant appears to be frequently booked for private parties (2 out of 3 nights while I was there), leaving no in-hotel alternative other than room service or walks to mediocre restaurants 2-3 blocks away.
