From the moment that I left my car, the vibe that I got was truly extraordinary. I was taken up to my room, which had all of the amenities that a person could ask for, and the moment I sat on my bed, I couldn't move. My friends and I had driven around 3 hours that day and the staff... more

We arrived last evening, and the front desk people were polite and we got taken to our room. Upon entering, we noticed a very mildew, mold smell. We were so exhausted we decided to just stay in the room, since we were already tired, and ready to sleep. I went to look at our so called "Washington DC view"as described... more

Returned to the Jefferson to celebrate an anniversary, having spent our wedding night there many years ago. Pleasant enough stay, but the Hotel has some serious flaws. The corridors were musty and worn, with residential dehumidifiers plugged in every 30 feet or so, running constantly. Suppose it kept the smell down, but not what one expects at $500 a night.... more

There were a number of special things about this hotel. First of all, the bar is very cosy and it's pleasant to sit there, imbibe a few beers and sample their well cooked cuisine. (For the gourmands amongst you, the main restaurant in the Jefferson specialises in modern American cooking and boasts a selection of excellent dishes. Although I did... more

Last week, I was booked into the Jefferson Hotel for business, and having no say in where I was about to stay, I was hoping that my experience would be a good one. I did not need to worry. The Jefferson was a gem from the moment I arrived! Friendly front desk staff, lovely classical music playing in the hallways,... more

I have stayed at The Jefferson several times over the past 5 years and it just gets better and better! The new management has taken care to improve certain maintenance areas while not overshadowing the character of the place. The lobby is small but beautiful. There are two inviting sliver size patios off the lobby that have working wall fountains... more

Don't let the reviews below fool you - the hotel needs some work here and there, but it has really improved in the past year. They told me it's under new management, and it really shows. Brand new beds - the ONLY time my back has not hurt when I wake up in the morning in a hotel bed. MUCH... more

The Jefferson is an average hotel, at an above average price. If you are going to be spending the money for a suite, do not stay here and spend your money at the Ritz, Intercontinel , 4 Seasons, The Jury, and/ or Marriott. Since I travel weekly, I find the hotel on par with a Courtyard, Hiton Garden, or Holiday... more

Stayed at the Jefferson at the last minute during a busy DC weekend when most other establishments were full. Overall had a positive experience - its not cutting edge, but then again it is not full of attitude either. Staff was professional and actually helpful. In fact, they behave like humans - what a concept. The room was a standard... more

I stayed at The Jefferson for four nights and found my experience to be...."good." By no means was it aweful like some other reviews, but I don't think I would stay there again-there are just so many other hotels in town for the same price. We did the "A la Carte" package that got us a very large room with... more
