This was the worst vacation we ever had. We made our reservations almost a year in advance based on the information given us about this establishment. We asked for a two bedroom which stated in the literature had a spa tub. The reason we wanted two bedrooms was because we were going to take our son and daughter-in-law for their... more

Do not let the bad reviews fool you! This was a great hotel! We spend a week here in February of 2008 and had a great time. This hotel is RIGHT above the beach... like within walking distance you can walk along the coast. There is also a lot to do right on resort like: tennis, volleyball, pool, gym, sauna,... more

My wife and I left this resort in disgust after three nights of a seven night timeshare exchange. Its only possible "gold crown" attribute is the admitedly spectacular location. We traded our own gold crown one bedroom and received a "studio" (hotel) unit, with a tiny balcony and a bed so small (a double, not even a queen), that one... more

Used 600 points with Sunterra for a 3 night mid-week stay No problems checking in - front desk was friendly enough. The studio room was pretty good size! Balcony with a view of the ocean was a bonus :) Came with a full size fridge, and mini kitchen. Not 5 star by any means - but the view and location... more

In December we booked and paid for a two night stay at the San Luis Bay Inn. A confirmation call was made to us the day before we were to arrive. When we did arrive there was no record of our reservation and we were told that we should be at the Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo. Although when... more

We are Sunterra (now Diamond Resorts) owners, and this was our second visit to the San Luis Bay Inn. We stayed four nights, and our experience was completely different from the recent negative reviews. With the exception of the need for new bed linens, everything was first-rate. The employees at the reception and activities desks were friendly, efficient, and helpful.... more

We arrived at 2:30 pm, room wasn't ready yet. We came back around 3:45pm...still not ready. So we came back around 7 pm...finally! Upon entering the hotel and the room, we knew the place was stuck in the late '80's or early 90's. The lights in the room were so dim.....it did not set the right mood. The carpet was... more

Was disappointed. Dirty rooms, dusty. Old linens with burn holes. Black mold in the showers. No screens on the window and sliding door in our room. Staff seemed bothered when we requested some of these things to be changed, cleaned etc... We are Sunterra Owners and would not exchange there again. more

We are timeshare owners of this Resort. There is no WiFi but they charge 10 dollars a day for internet. They charge for coffee, sewing kits, 3 dollar DVD rentals, toothbrushes and various items that should be free. The computer downstairs for owners was out of order the entire week, they have a low flow showerhead but a giant spa... more

We own a timeshare in Puerto Vallarta and this was the first time we did an exchange through Interval so we were dissappointed when the Resort didn't match the other resorts we've stayed at. Although we stayed in a renovated Studio, it didn't have a closet and the bed linens were very, very old --I was shocked that they would... more
