The location is perfect. Right on the beach but just far enough from the busy areas of San Pedro town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Patojos diving center is on the pier just in front of the hotel. I did my PADI certification with him and he's great as an Instructor and Dive master. Stay there, you'll love... More

Patojo and Family are just plain great! Pato is an original native to the island and leads an excellent dive. His daughter does a wonderful job of tending to the guests needs. A must stay and dive - you won't be sorry! Eric (South Dakota) More

Stayed here two different times and would go back again. Be sure to go snorkeling with them for an up close and personal experience with rays, turtles and eels. Pros: The rooms are very large and modestly furnished. Air conditioned. Breakfast served daily. Cons: Although they have a bar, they were out of limes for two days! More

The apartment room was modestly furnished. The kitchen was poorly equipped. The staff were very nice and helpful. The WIFI was spotty all week. More

This place is a short walk north of the centre of town, on the beachfront - far enough to be away from most of the noise and drunk tourists driving golf carts, but near enough to walk along the beach to the restaurants and tour operators. Everyone here was really friendly. They seem to do a lot of parties and... More

Although we did not stay at the Tides, we spent many hours there at the bar with Butch, and even more time out diving with Patojo's scuba operation. We were newly certified scuba divers and this was our first oceanic dives. We told Patojo this when we were fitting up our gear, and he sat us all down and talked... More

I arrived in San Pedro without a single reservation. The other travelers in the shared taxi from the airport were staying at Tides and while dropping them off I decide the hotel looked great and checked to see if they had an available room. Thankfully they did. Kim was an angel. Since I hadn't had a reservation it was going... More

Love the location of Tides. Diving is the best. Patojo knows the ocean like not many others. Kim & Butch are great. Downside; watch your money / credit card. I really lost total trust in what seemed to be a great family run hotel. I was charged an erroneous $ 2,500, claimed to be an accident, but after the whole... More

We stayed at The Tides Resort for a week Feb 19-26. This was our first trip to San Pedro, and could not have picked a better place. Our room was the "Fisherman. It had everything we needed, large king size bed, decent size frig, ceiling fans, cable TV, AC with remote. Kim did a great job with daily housekeeping, room... More

This was my third time staying in "The Tides" and I will come back again for sure ! Of course the main reason to stay there is the diving. The dive operation that Patojo runs is impeccable. His knowledge and professionalism is next to nothing I have seen before ! He and his dive crew make the trips outstanding. The... More
