We took Lonely Planet's advice and went to Elvira's for our first night stay in San Ignacio. However, for the second night, we slept elsewhere because this budget hotel is not very nice. It is cheap; $13 a night for a double room with no bathroom. But the hotel doesn't feel or look very clean. The shared bathroom smelled like urine and the shower didn't look very clean. I showered in my friend's private bathroom in their room, and there was no hot water. My room had a standing fan that didn't ocilate and the mattresses weren't comfortable.

I recommend to stay at a different hotel, which might cost a few dollars more but would be much better. more
