The grounds of Blancaneaux, and the actual cabanas are beautiful. But the beauty is only skin deep. Where do I begin? There were problems with just about everything - the biggest being bed bugs. We left covered with bites, which were confirmed by our doctor at home. I began to suspect that my odd looking "mosquito bites" weren't from mosquitoes... more

We drove to Blancaneaux from Belize, which took about 3 hours - the last hour of which was along an EXTREMELY bumpy road. But the drive was DEFINITELY worth it. Blancaneaux is simply stunning. The location is of outstanding beauty, set into the jungle above the banks of the Privasson Creek.. The lodges are simple luxury - with cute gadgets... more

We have been to Belize twice, and love both the coast and the rain forest. This year, after a week on the coast, we wanted to try Coppola's mountain retreat, altho friends who are experienced Belize travelors had advised against it. In a nutshell, we were "whelmed". Beautiful grounds, adequate accomodations, good, if limited, food, very accomodating staff, high prices.... more

My wife and I went to Belize on our honeymoon and stayed at Blancaneaux for 5 days and 4 nights. We had a very good experience and wanted to share our pro’s and con’s of our stay: Pros - The biggest pro, by far, is the service. The staff at extremely nice and attentive. They’ll always ask how your day... more

We purchased the honeymoon package so all we had to do was decide what days to do them. The service was excellent as was the food. I have nothing to complain about the trip. Accommodations were very romantic and I believe they told us we were 2 of only 16 guests which made for a perfect place for my wife... more

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Blancaneaux at the end of August after getting married in San Pedro on the beach. It was really interesting to see this different side of Belize. We, like other commentors, hiked to the waterfalls, canoed through caves and went to Tikal. There are several options for Mayan ruins and if you... more

Beautiful grounds and lodges... service wasn't that great considering the price we paid. Food was pretty good though we were looking for more of a local experience and it was Italian (the other restaurant on-site didn't have any vegetarian options). We did the day trip to Tikal (about 4 hours from the resort)- very tiring but so worth it. They... more

This place is stunning. For us location is not a huge factor. If service is great and the place is well run, then the locale is secondary. If you want to travel to Caracol and do some unique horseback rides, then this place is perfect. There is no doubt the place is isolated (some people like that) and also the... more

I have been to Belize many many times, but my experience at Blancaneaux was by far one of the best experiences of my life - not too mention in Belize. We loved everything - from teh delicious breakfasts, the tours which were fantastic (the horseride thru the jungle was amazing!), the closeness to Caracol which we did on our one... more

stayed 4 days at blancaneaux with family (17, 15 and 4 year old). we stayed in the FFC Villa - amazing experience! we had our own attendant who was on 24 hour call. we would tell him what time we would like coffee made the following morning and order breakfast the night before. It was great to wake up to... more
