The mystic jungle resort is a one of a kind experience. It is located outside of San Ignacio (about 5 miles) but among several other well known and very pricey resorts. The resort is nestled among the green hills and jungle of the Cayo District. San Ignacio is very accessible from MJR but you don't have to deal with the volume of people in town or the noisiness of the streets. This place is a diamond in the rough and will continue to grow. Parts of the resort are still under construction (the restaurant) and they are working out the kinks but overall for the price you cannot beat it.

The accommodations were great as the rooms were clean and spacious. The cabanas are spread out over the property so you are not to close to your neighbor and the only noises you hear at night are the natural surroundings of the jungle. I just loved the personal chair swing located on the porch of our cabana. It was great for taking in the sunset or relaxing in the shade. The pool is refreshing... more
