South Waters Resort occupies 300ft of sandy beach on the southern point of Placencia village, it is approx 120 mile flight from Belize City and one mile from the Placencia Airstrip. Guests fly internationally into Belize City and then must schedule a 40-minute flight to the Placencia Peninsula, prior to departing for your trip. This flight can be arranged through the local carriers Tropic Air or Maya Island Air. Guests can call South Waters Resort to arrange complimentary transportation to and from the airstrip. Our accomodations range from private beach cabanas with fans too luxury condo suites fully furnished with A/C all have private bathrooms, verandahs and overlook the Placencia Bay for spectacular sunrises. more »

Dave & Cheryl, We went to South Waters Resort at the end of February and were happy to see that the resort that we chose was better than we had expicted. From what we could tell, South Waters was not that different from most of the places available in Placencia. The cabanas are pretty basic, location was good. We stayed 5 nights at South Waters Resort in March '06 in a seaside Cabana. Ok, if you are looking for private, quaint, simple accomodation and not too expensive. Ask for Cabana 1 or 4, as 2 and 3 are close to the Crow's Nest and people talking late into the evening might keep you awake if you are a... more
