A wonderful place. A word of caution to unmatched canoers. Ask the guides to ride separately with you. Nothing can destroy a relationship as easily as not being able to paddle in a coordinated way. more

This was everything we hoped for and more! The food was delicious (Thanks Liz!), much better than we expected based on reviews we read. The staff was personable (Thanks Cesar) and knowledgable (Thanks Gilberto and "Gregory Peck"). We especially wanted to visit the Mayan ruins and this adventure was all that we hoped for. We also recommend the Spotlight Safari... more

Travel in by river boat up the New River Lagoon (where the made for TV version of Apacolypse Now was shot); rum punch upon arrival; a room with modern amenities at the foot of jungle setting. The night nature tours will inform and amaze, the sunset cocktail cruise was stunning, and the tour of the Lamanai ruins (with Ruben and... more

Lamanai Outpost was a perfect start to our family's (girls ages 13 and 9) 2-week visit to Belize. The airport pickup was a great and painless welcome to the country, and the 1-hour boat trip up the New River to Lamanai was the best possible way to unwind into vacation mode (and the rum punch -- no rum for the... more

We drove all the way into this remote lodge, rather than taking the boat - what an experience! The place is fantastic! An edge-of-the-world remoteness, while at the same time the highest level of service. We wish we could have stayed longer! more

We stayed at Lamanai Outpost Lodge the end of February and had the best time ever. Don't be fooled by the laid back attitude--everything down to the meals and the activities is extremely organized, but with a very relaxed feel. From the moment we arrived in Belize City, to the wonderful New River ride, to the second we stepped onto... more

We just returned from a two week trip to Belize. Our first four nights were spent at Lamanai Outpost Lodge. The trip in via van ride and riverboat was exciting but a little chilly and there were plenty of bugs in the air after sunset which even though it was dark made sunglasses a necessity. The casitas are large enough... more

We started at Five Sisters in the Cayo district & then ended at Lamanai. My husband & I grew up traveling the world & have never before found a nicer culture of people. At Lamanai, we caught a croc, climbed all the ruins, ate fantastic meals, saw loads of animals (including a mother duck with a swarm of ducklings), made... more

My husband and I just got back from our Honeymoon in Belize. We stayed the first 3 days in Lamanai. The whole experience was WONDERFUL! We were picked up in a van that took us to the New River where a boat was waiting to take us to the lodge. On the way we saw a crocodile, turtle, and many... more

We went to Lamanai for our Honeymoon, having no expectations (we've been all over the world but never central America) and no idea where we wanted to go other than the jungle. The month before we arrived Lamanai changed their pricing to include 3 tours per day, perfect when you don't want a nasty surprise on the bill at the... more
