The location is unbeatable. It gives you the ability to take comfortable breaks from the market, and to be able to walk around with minimal belongings. The place is beautiful. My complaints are that the staff seem disinterested, and the fires in both of our rooms belched thick smoke back into the rooms. There was no way we could go... more

This large, fairly new hotel, just steps from the twice-weekly market in Chichicastenango, is a gem. Our triple room )actually two rooms) was equipped with a fireplace, which was supplied with wood and fired up by the staff at our request. We were on the second floor, far from the street, and the room was absolutely quiet. Lighting was very... more

Spent Christmas Day 2008 in Chichicastenango and stayed at this delightful hotel - it could not have been better! The hotel is beautifully decorated, the owner is a delight and the staff all charming and very welcoming and helpful. All the rooms have an open fireplace, the food was great and the location could not be better. Everyone goes to... more

I recently went to visit my home country of Guatemala (I was born in the US, folks are from there) and took my fiance on this 15 day glorious trip. We had an opportunity to travel throughout the country of Guatemala and got to experience some amazing things. One of our stops was to visit Chichicastenanago. I have been there... more

Our night here was booked by our tour operator. The hotel and its patios are gorgeous - colonial architecture, decorated with countless antique masks, crucifixes, ceramics, etc. The room was quite spacious - actually 2 rooms. But the lighting was provided by halogens which were too small for the space; water streamed under the shower door onto the bathroom floor,... more

This is probably the best hotel in town, certainly it seems popular with tour groups. The hotel is set around a courtyard and is furnished with lots of old antiques. The rooms are clean and quite basic, ours was a little dark and wasnt helped by the green tinted lamp shades. The main problem was it was cold! We were... more

My husband and I disagree on the quality of this hotel. Given that it is in a small remote and poor town I though the hotel provided the basic services needed in a nice and pleasant setting. I liked the gardens, the decorations, the rooms and the food. My husband thought the hotel had several problems: small bathroom, little pressure... more

The nicest hotel in town. Good food and lovely old monastery turned into a very nice hotel. The owner was attentive as was her staff and they sold nice things in their gift shop at resonable prices. Arrive on Saturday and explore the market on Sunday. One night was perfect for us. Explore the market, church and cemetery. more

We had been on the road for hours on a Saturday because we wanted to check out the Chichicastenango Sunday market. We came here for dinner and stayed the night! Overall it was a good value for a comfortable room with unique decor. The hotel is chock full of art work in the halls, the courtyards, and even the rooms... more
