This hotel was highly recommended to us by some friends. However our experience was totally different, we look the hotel website and we decided to reserve the Rosa suite and our friends the Jr. Suite because we like to commodities of a 5 stars hotel. To start with there was no coffeemaker in our rooms but there was one on... more

We would agree with other reviewers that the Posada, our first stop in Guatemala, was a terrific place to stay. Our little stone cottage number 3 (La Luna, I think) was very appealing and one of the most private. Another advantage was that it involved only a short walk to the restaurant. The fireplace made a real difference during the... more

While my husband and I studied Spanish in Antigua, we took weekend trips to other cities. We went to Posada de Santiago for the first weekend in January. The drive from Antigua to Lake Atitlan took approximately 2.5 hours. It was a long and difficult drive because the road went up and down (if you get easily car sick, take... more

We just returned from our Guatemalan vacation where we spent two nights at Posada de Santiago. Without question one of the great experiences of my life. The beauty is stunning. We stayed in Casa Rosa which offers the very best view. It sits right behiind the restaurant. To all of the great things said by the other reviewers I say... more

This is a real little gem far away from the tourist trap of Pana. The rooms are comfortable, nice little fireplaces help keep the room cozy at night. The local food market was a treat to walk through, much more interesting then the "gringo market" that sells overpriced tourist junk. The owner of the hotel is friendly the service is... more

What a wonderful place to stay! My bungalow was cozy, clean, and peaceful. The owners were kind and accomodating. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The food in the restaurant was THE BEST during my stay in Guatemala. The best part was the working fireplace in every bungalow! It took the chill away in the evenings and added a... more

What a wonderful and beautiful place to stay. My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights this month (Dec). My wifes work is based out of Lake Atitlan so she had stayed at The Posada before, but I had not. The rooms (we had a cottage) were clean, quaint, and overall GREAT! The views of the lake from the... more

We stayed in the Sol cottage for two nights and were simply delighted with our charming little cottage, the hotel's restaurant, the lovely lush gardens, pool and the hot tub! We got off the boat at the Santiago dock and following the Lonely Planet guidebook's directions, we chose to walk to the Posada with our carry-ons in tow. It was... more

Posada de Santiago, what a dream come true. It is said that there are mystical powers felt at Lake Atitlan. Yes, to be sure! Santiago and the Posada (the hotel) made our trip to Guatemala so special. The cottage where we stayed was amazing, the meals were right out of the "food network", but more important than that... the owners,... more

My family and I (14 yo boy and 8 yo girl) stayed at the Posada for one week in August. Even prior to arriving we had a good feeling about it as David the proprietor had answered numerous e-mail questions, set us up with a private driver, and arranged for us to visit a local preschool. Our driver Juan Velasquez... more
