A unique and fun location, balmed in its own warm tropical air. The rooms and restaurant 'fall-out' over the bay as boat taxis and shrimp boats journey to and fro. The hotel itself is utilitarian but has everything going for it. Our only caveat is the self imposed caricature that the Manager Manfred presents of himself ...... He plays the... More

Deffinetly a place to be when you go to Livigston. We receive one of the casitas with the balcony facing the bay. The reccomandation of other tripadvisor visitors were helpful and indeed the view from this room is unobstructed and magnificent. Especially to wake up in the morning and seat on thebalcony watching the sun rays playing with the water... More

Just returned from a fantastic 8 days in Belize and Guatemala. We ended our journey in Livingston, Guatemala and could not have been happier with our choice of the Hotel Villa Caribe. We originally had booked for only one night, but after experiencing such a lovely hotel and dining in the fabulous restaurant, we extended our stay. Ending our vacation... More

Just got back from a two week visit to Guatemala and have to say it was time well spent. Livingston was the last leg of our vacation before returning home and wasnt really sure about where to stay there that wouldnt hurt our budget. We were told of a promotion offered by Villa Caribe and didnt hesitate to take up... More

We spent three nights at Villa Caribe. We loved it all, the casita with AC and TV, the food and the staff. They had a promotion on for US$100 per night included a three course dinner and a great breakfast chosen a la carte. No, the staff does not speak much English but if you try to speak Spanish and... Trip down Rio Dulce by boat was fantastic, and we got lucky with great sunny weather both ways. Scenic, tons of birdlife, really beautiful trip. Livingstone itself is interesting for a night, not a lot to do other than walk around, sit in cafes or in a restaurant, etc. Hotel has great pool and good terrace for drinks over the... More

We like the idea of travelling to a town not accessible by road, and loved the boat trip down the Rio Dulce, very pretty scenery and so many birds. We only stayed one night in Villa Caribe but found it ideal for us. Very convenient location with its own dock at the bottom of the garden, and right in the... More

Decent enough place. Slightly pricey. Good location. Livingston itself is a dump. More

Our trip to Livingston was a mistake, once was rainning too much. The 47km from Castillo San Filipe to Livingston with rain seems longuer and in the next day to do the same again with rain was too much. In fact we don´t know if the Rio Dulce is beautiful or not. About the hotel, they gave us a nice... More

We absolutely loved the 5 days we stayed in Livingston. We arrived during low season and were offered one of the Casitas (junior suites) for $65 usd a night including breakfast. The room was spotless and new and had air conditioning, a tv and a private patio overlooking the Caribbean and pool... and yes this isn’t just any pool, it’s... More
