Gran Hotel Sula was a fun surprise--so clean, comfortable, cool and accomodating. The staff was friendly and professional and helped with transportation, email service, organizing a group picnic. I got no response from the hotel when making reservations on the web site but my travel agent booked the room. I arrived at 10:00 pm and the front desk was ready for me. Everything I have read from others here is pretty much true. The Gran Hotel Sula is an older hotel and is showing some wear. It also has a great location in town, right across from the park, a beautiful pool, the Skandia Cafe (one of the best places in town for a quick cafe meal) and a gracious, attentive staff.... more

This hotel is well situated just across from the Central Plaza. The rooms are fine overlooking either the Plaza or at the back, the pool. Good size rooms are clean with safe box. The service friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds. Good value, we will stay there again. more

First, the good news... This is really not a bad hotel; it's comfortable with some fine amenities, and the location can't be beat. It is literally right smack in the middle of the city, facing the central plaza, the cathedral, and the city hall. There is a major bank right next door, with a 24-hour ATM (be careful at night!!!).... more

Don't expect a 4 star US style hotel, but certainly above par for Honduras. Friendly staff and centrally located near the park, restaurants and other activities. Very good value. I will most definately stay here again when I return. more
