Possibly the worst hotel in the world - in the worst capital city in Central America.
We stayed here on Christmas Eve and along with our tour group were the only guests in the hotel. The only company we had in the lobby was the security guard with his gun and the receptionist. No food or restaurant/kitchen available for evening or breakfast. The furniture (a couple of sofas in the lobby) were too filthy to sit on.
Our room on the 5th floor was pure Austin Powers - with 60s decor in a shabby, dirty setting and the bathroom had unsafe wiring. The front entrance of the hotel was in a closed up market street which looked like a war zone. We were told it was unsafe to go outside at night so all spent the night with supermarket food locked in the lobby for Christmas Eve with the very nice security guard. No breakfast available on Christmas Day - but it was an experience!
This hotel used to be a Holiday Inn - the signs were still visible - but it now ready...
