Looking for a room on graduation weekend in Athens, Georgia is no treat, so we stumbled on The Colonels. It was a good move. Located in a modest farmhouse that over the last 150 years has morphed into a very respectable mansion, it couldn't have been nicer. "The colonels", our hosts, combine European style with southern hospitality to good effect.... more

We stayed at the Colonels recently, and loved it! The setting is gorgeous, out in the countryside, with horses grazing nearby. The host and hostess were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting. Rooms were perfect -- a mix of nice antiques and upscale, modern pieces.
