I travelled to Athens to check out UGA with my daughter. We did not know the Methodist convention was in town and EVERY other place was fully booked. The fact that this Days Inn had rooms available speaks for itself. Our non-smoking room STANK of Febreze and smoke. The floors were dirty in the corners and the linens were stained... more

Stayed in Room 126 which was a non-smoking room. The room was very smoky smelling and not what I expected. It was a good location in the hotel, but brought a candle and burned it all night to mask the smoky smell. The continental breakfast was pretty good with lots of options. If you are a smoker then this is... more

We stayed here for an academic event at UGA, more interested in a good price for a place to sleep than a memorable visit to Athens, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the Days Inn. The reception staff, a husband and wife team, were absolutely the best, super-friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. They directed us to a... more

Wife and I did a quick overnight getaway to Athens on a budget. Hotel was within walking distance to UGA, Lumpkin Street (with all the shops/bars) which we walked to. Also walked to Grit Cafe which was great. Continental breakfast was included in the morning. Room was clean, everything worked, sheets and towels were white. Great value for what we... more

I was concerned about staying here based on other reviews which primarily stated that the hotel was in a seedy area. Did the neighborhood look fantastic? No. Was I worried about staying there? Not really, especially after I learned that it was RIGHT NEXT to the much more expensive Courtyard Marriott. The hotel is outdated, but it was perfectly acceptable.... more

We needed a place to stay before I could move into my house in Athens. The reviews I read weren't very positive so I wasn't expecting much. The room was clean, and we even had a fridge, very helpful :) Didn't get up in time for breakfast, but I was satisfied with our stay. The only complaint I have is... more

I stayed at the Days Inn Athens during an academic conference at UGA, booking at the AAA rate of around $85/night. I've stayed in a lot of 2* hotels over the years and have generally been impressed with the Days Inn chain, but this particular hotel leaves a lot to be desired. The room was shabby--peeling wallpaper, a general dinginess,... more

Nothing fancy, but clean, walking distance to downtown restaurants and bars and it was cheap. Also had a nice breakfast selection. Good choice for an Athens trip to see a show or 2 at the Georgia Theatre. more

We were looking for a convenient place to stay in Athens for a three-day visit, but we did not want to pay the $100+/per day prices of some of the higher rated hotels/motels. Based on the reviews here, we booked the Athens Days Inn directly with them and received a discount - and a daily rate about 40% less than... more

Very convenient, clean and looks to have been recently refreshed. Also a good value. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Located near two good restaurants: The Grit & Big City Cafe. more
