After researching every lodging facility possible, we decided to stay at The Ponderosa. It's about ten miles north of Coeur d'Alene but well worth the drive! The lodge is simply gorgeous, very rustic but elegant with a jacuzzi tub outside, antiques, local guide books and the hosts were absolutely delightful. Great conversation, exquisite breakfast and reasonable rates. Many weddings are held there and once you go you'll know why. Also, a good location if you're interested in seeing Bayview (yet another picturesque spot in Idaho) or heading north to Schweitzer for some skiing. We will definitely return!
