My wife and two children (5 and 7) made the trip to Anderson from Michigan to see the sons of some friends playing baseball at Anderson University. Because there were apparently a number of events in town that weekend, the only place we could find that had availability was the Days Inn in Anderson (we now, know why). In hindsight we should have slept in the car.
This was, without having to think too long - one of my worst hotel experiences ever (and there have been a lot of hotel visits). Let me count the ways -
1 - The incredible stench of cleaning detergent when you walk in the lobby.
2 - An unsupervised indoor pool area where kids run amok, with puddles of mud, dirt and yes, urine surrounding the filthy area.
3 - We received two small towels in our room for four people
4 - Our bathtub was clogged and we asked that the manager to send someone in to fix it. They did - and when we returned, all the hair and mud that clogged the drain was...
