My husband & I stayed in this b&b in July (2005) during our ride across Iowa (RAGBRAI). This house is a victorian beauty and it's current owners made it into a breathtaking b&b. The antiques, furniture, and details are incredible. We stayed in the North room, which has fabulous 2nd floor bay-type windows and large bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The owners were fantastic, and were able to help us with some personal needs. All the other rooms were taken by other cyclists, and the owners made lots of snacks, homemade ice-cream, etc to share with us that night. A mini fridge was on the 2nd floor landing that held water bottles for the guests, and above it a coffee maker in case you wanted coffee other than at breakfast. Downtown is just 1 block away, so we walked to the post office, the movie theater, the shops, etc. We had a very peaceful night. Although we had to be on the road bright very early, the owners made us a delicious hot breakfast casserole with fresh fruit... more
