Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Theres better hotel around the area for less price. Ive finally get to move to iberostar after spending 1 night. Rooms and facilities ok but this sofitel seems to be on his way down. Its pretty far from the main area in founty.

I was meant to stay in the hotel end of March 2020 but this got cancelled because of Covid-19, FCO banned all flights to Morocco. I have never received a refund from the hotel, I have sent numerous emails and tried multiple times to call the hotel but there has been no answer no response to any of my emails. I have also tried Accor who advised the hotel is not part of their group anymore and they would not help, very useless. I am extremely disappointed with this service, having stayed in other Sofitel before I thought this was a trusted/well know hotel but I was shocked this time how impossible it was to get my money back. I have been trying till December 2020 to get my money back but now gave up. Absolutely terrible.

Stayed here to celebrate son's birthday. No acknowledgement of birthday despite reminders and notes. The rooms were dated, musty smelling. Seaview rooms are distant from the coastline and not much better. Found dead insects in the room as it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Found spiders crawling over a dimly lit salad area in the main buffet restaurant. most staff are inattentive and dismiss concerns. Asked for a warm blanket and never received throughout whole stay. same with them fixing the heating. checked out after 1 night and never got refunded for the remainder nights stay. had to book with another resort which was a massive improvement. This hotel is not at all like any sofitel accor range. Awful and no idea how it's rated so highly on tripadvisor

I booked this hotel for April 2020. The booking was cancelled (by the hotel) due to COVID. I have now tried on many occasions to get a response from the hotel in order to receive a refund but they are ignoring emails and the main email address (H5707@..) is now bouncing emails. The hotel has now left Accor and so Accor are providing no help. Really bad service despite initially responding well to emails

The Hotel : lobby areas nice and entrances to the pool and dining area is all nearby so convienient if you have a baby that likes walking around😂 The rooms are nice and the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable, like seriously you just soak into the bed😍the AC is not good at all.. i think its from the 1980’s..Bathrooms are nice, 2 sinks, nice hot powerful shower and also in a bathtub if you need to give children a soak like we did with our daughter. The Staff: the first day we arrived i tried being cheeky and asked for a room upgrade but nothing was available, on the 2nd night, i asked again because of the AC being terrible and room was hot and daughter was getting flustered and hot and rosey in her cheeks, they had a room but was told it was gunna be 400dh a night..so i left it. However on the 3rd night, as i went out for hammam.. we had a problem with the service which i dont want to speak about as i dont want to make anyone in the hotel look bad.. i just put it down to them being busy but also because they then sorted an upgraded room and with pool view as complimentary to resolve the issue we had. And this completely transformed our holiday as the open balcony had grass area which my daughter loved playing in and the pool view was a breathe of fresh air.. alot better then the standard room with a window with a dying palm tree.. also the room was in the opposite side of the previous room so we were now in the shade and could leave the sliding doors open at night to allow the breeze in and was alot cooler! A big thankyou to MIRIEM for sorting that out because that genuinely made us so much happier and our whole holiday alot better! Sometimes you habe to give the staff the benefit of the doubt because they work tirelessly all day and night and as customers and holidayers we try to take to much from hotels.. we complain dramatically to get what we want but we must also appreciate what the staff do... just like the short ASMA helped us with ordering food and helping our way around the hotel. Was really helpful and friendly! And the taller ASMA also ensuring we were happy and being looked after.also thankyou to Mr.AZIZ at the concierge for helping me book and ring places for my hammams. The guys out infront of the hotel could be more helpful rather then standing there like statues.. if your a 5 star hotel then i would expect them to help put the buggy on taxis and open our doors etc like in previous 5 star hotels iv stayed with..the guys at the pool were very good with their service also thankyou to them! And the cleaners were also very good! Give them a salary rise! They work extremely hard. As a manager myself i would just advice to make the communication between reception and room service more efficient and on the same wavelength to bring out the best out of the service.overall the stay was still worth the money and i would still reccomended people to come here as i would book myself here again in future. The Food: We had bed and breakfast and the options were good, more quantity then quality.. althought the sugar doughnuts outside freshly fried were beaut😍and the fresh croissants and pastries! The Pool: area was amazing! Althought the bigger pool was alot colder then the smaller pool which was really for the children anyway but most adults and couples used it to have a dip..it has heating in the smaller pool but not like how you imagine.. just like standard pool temperature. My daughter and i loved the pool area.. and the sunbeds were like an outdoor king size bed! I stayed out for like 3/4 hours at the pool..and all the garden area to play, so spacious! The Location: its a 40 minute walk to the marina area near the ferris wheel where you will find all the food places.. takes about 6-8 minutes in taxi and taxis are cheap.. shoudnt pay more then 30dh to get to the wheel in the day and no more then 40dh at night... and that at the current rate of english pounds is £2.50/£3.00! So its not bad at all to get around.. make sure you take the orange little cabs, they’re cheaper. The beach is right outfront with private beach. We walked to the marina and back on couple of occasions because its a lovely walk on the pier with blocks to sit on too all across.

This was my second trip to Agadir. Last year I stayed next door at their sister hotel which is more European and has a large Thalasso spa. I decided to try the Sofitel Agadir Bay, the more traditional Moroccan of the two, this trip. It's also quite a bit less expensive. The entrance is beautiful! The bellman and guards are dressed in attractive uniforms and are ready to serve. Azzedine is a delight, has an easy smile and makes you feel incredibly welcome when you step out of your cab from the airport (a quick 20 minute ride) Traditionally, you will be greated with hot mint tea and the most delicious Moroccan cookies I've ever had. I’m not sure what happened but there were no cookies or tea for me when I arrived. I was very disappointed : ( Check in is easy and efficient. Staff friendly and helpful. Reception and the welcome team all speak Arabic, French and English. My room on the first floor was comfortable and had a pool view. Perfect to watch sunset from afar if you don’t want to walk a few minutes down to the beach on the other side of the pool. Wonderful, comfortable bed, thick down comforter and pillows, crisp white sheets, large bathroom with tub and bidet. All the amenities you’d expect to find. My housekeeper during my stay was Aicha. She was very sweet and took her job seriously. She wanted to make sure I had everything I needed and would check in daily to see if I was ok. She left surprises in my room like bananas, chocolates and bottled water - both still and sparkling. I would be tickled to come back to my room after a day in the sun or souk and find Aicha had sprinkled rose petals around my room, arranged my towels in hearts or cute shapes and fixed my bed in a speacial and cozy way. It’s a small gesture but shows how much she cares and wants you to feel special - I did! Rooms are always cleaned perfectly and smell so good too! My one negative comment - get better hair conditioner! Something creamy is a much better option for most folks espeically if you have dry or damaged hair. And a note: there is NO HEAT in the room. It can get VERY CHILLY in the evening if you are not traveling in late spring, summer or fall. I never once turned on the TV but it looked big and new. Good free WiFi and room service. Great pool area with many sitting options from lounges to beds, cabanas and large umbrellas, pillows and oversized towels. Lifeguards at the ready. There is a kids play area as well. Pool staff is helpful although their English is not great. I managed with my broken French. Simple pool/beach menu with something for everyone. Lovely restaurant manager and friendly hotel managers will stop by and say hello always with a warm smile. The hotel has a small spa but for an extra $20 a day you can go next door to the other Sofitel hotel and use their Thalasso spa and hamman. It is well worth the money and is just a quick two minute walk between hotels. I had a fabulous and strong massage with Samira (there are 2 Samiras! I had the one without the glasses). They have a full range of spa services and a hairdresser on site. Great little gift shop, too. I find Agadir a lovely quiet option to bustling and busy Marrakech. I enjoy being close to the beach and the mountains. I have noticed many changes since last year - the airport shops/restaurant options are expanding and has many more European style options like PAUL (from Paris) for pastries and sandwiches, locals seem to have more phones and are on them a lot, building is expanding all over very quickly. Get to Agadir before it pops. It was a good visit and I’m sure I will be back soon. Don't forget to bargain for everything! Have fun.

From the moment of arrival until the day of departure, we were in absolute awe of this hotel and the amazing, friendly staff. Nothing was ever too much for them. Always smiling! Our room was immaculate and the bed was unbelievably comfortable!! The food was lovely - breakfast, lunch and dinners! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Agadir!...on our last day we had contemplated on extending our stay - unfortunately our work schedules got in the way!!! Certainly not one to miss.
