If you are looking for a great Riad in Fes, this is the place to be! Nice rooms, excellent service and great food (these breakfasts are the best before a long day in the Medina of Fes!). If I had to mention one downside it would be the matrasses...a little bit softer would be great. Btw, did I already mentioned... more

All the higher end riads our travel agent used had no doubles available. Al Bartal is on the agent's list so after reading the reviews and checking their website, I (reluctantly) booked a suite there for 2 nights. Boy, were we very pleasantly surprised! My fiancé and I were blown away as soon as we stepped into the lush green... more

What a splendid riad, hidden away in the streets of the medina of Fes. The inside garden is absolutely beautiful and the suites are fabulous. Christian, the owner, is very friendly and offers excellent advice! The staff is friendly and accomodating, and I recommend eating dinner(reserve in advance) to taste the best tajine in all of Fes! Located just ten... more

I cannot say enough about this riad. It truly was spectacular. Entering the riad is like walking into a palace. We were treated like royalty by every employee that we dealt with during our stay. They had a driver waiting to pick us up from the train station, despite the fact that our train was late. All of the staff... more

After staying in another Riad somewhat closeby, I was shocked at how much more beautiful this one was for the same price. The owner treated me very well, even allowing me to extend my stay on a daily basis (which I did 3 times). She also gave me some of her more expensive suites at the discounted price of a... more

This riad deserves the previous positive reviews. We arrived at the train station in Fes over an hour late and the taxi they had sent for us had waited for us. Our room was one of the smaller ones, but really is very beautiful and did not feel small as the mezzanine meant that the large double bed was upstairs... more

The rooms here are gorgeously decorated and palatial. The owners and the staff are amazingly helpful -- they will make suggestions for navigating the medina, recommend restaurants and cafes and give you guidance for bargaining in the souks. I would definitely recommend dining in Riad al Bartal's lovely and romantic courtyard at least once during your stay. We ate our... more

This is an amazing riad...you walk in and it takes your breath away. The staff is so great and helfpul, not a thing that they can't do or arrange for you. The attention to detail throughout the riad is amazing and they have spent so much time in care in creating a truly relaxing and beautiful place to stay. Eat... more

Really a wonderful riad. The architecture is wonderful, a care for details. The room was lovely with a chimney to make the room warm in winter. The personnel is very kind and always smiling. Excellent breakfast. more

Great big room, just like on the website, with fantastic hand tiled walls even in the bath. Comfortable bed. Great fireplace in the Library. The Library is primarily French, but we didn't go there for reading. Very nice breakfast. Huge plants all over, like in a jungle. The service is fantastic, efficient and friendly. Everything works. Some members of the... more
