We spent a great 4 nights here in September 2009. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was great. I recommend asking for a room on the terrace, which is lovely. The hotel is in the medina, literally 5 minutes from the incredible Djema el Fna - excellent for strolling, shopping and eating out - and round the... more

We had Room 19 on the top floor, a bit of a mission with suitcases but kind man carried them for us on way up The room had 3 single beds, Room 18 has a double..The terrace was pleasant to sit on in the evening and have a glass of wine and chat to other guests. breakfast was not until... more

The rooms are all different, I have stayed in 10 and 12 and enjoyed both. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is very simple, but of a good quality. My girlfriend said the coffee was the best she has ever had. We ate breakfast outside surrounded by wonderful mosaic tiles and a lot of cats. The roof garden... more

Have just returned from a week in this hotel. Was quite apprehensive as believe you usually get what you pay for and it is a cheap hotel. Overall was pleasantly surprised. Location is superbe. Quiet, no noise at night but 5 mins from the amazing main square. Building is beautiful- wonderful mosaics and 2 courtyards. We had room 19 as... more

This is a very correct 2-star hotel in Marrakech with excellent and quiet location. Relation between price and quality is good. We paid MAD 500 (€ 45) per night breakfast included. Ask for a room in the upper floor. They are better than those on the ground floor. Our room (# 18) was very clean with attached bathroom and central... more

Stayed here for the second time..we also came last year..and nothing had changed..service was brill! I was travelling with a disabled person, but that was really no problem, they have rooms with (more or less) level access, the steps into the building posed no problem, as the staff all jump to carry the chair in and help with access in... more

We had high expectations of this hotel after reading the Lonely Planet review. Excellent location and friendly staff especially the lovely lady who did our laundry. However our room was dismal, number 3 on the ground floor, really depressing and poorly furnished and not quite so clean. It was dark and dreary and we could not open the shutters as... more

I stayed at the Hotel Gallia for my last two nights in Marrakech and wished that I had found this place a lot earlier. This charming hotel is centered around two courtyards with flowering trees. My room was spotless and much nicer than the one I stayed in for more than twice as much when I first landed in Morocco.... more

100 dirhams (AUD $15) petit taxi from train station to Hotel Gallia in 'side street', welcomed by doorman and shown to my room. Owned by French family since 1920's, run by locals, one of the oldest hotels in Marrakech, central courtyard where bouganvillea drapes a palm tree that reaches for the sky, spacious rooftop terrace, view of rooftops only great... more
