Charming hotel and tasteful restaurant, Les jardins de la Medina benefits from the luxuriance of an exceptional 3000 m² garden in the heart Kasbah of Marrakesh, not far from souks and from historic monuments such as Djemaa Lefna ... In this historic house, the WiFi is free in the rooms as well as in the overall hotel; the breakfast and the smile of the staff are included too!

This is an excellent hotel/ riad and we enjoyed our stay in a superior patio room. The room itself comes fully equipped with kettle, illy coffee machine, mini fridge, bathrobes and slippers. Supplied with water daily which you can easily replenish from local stores nearby. There is an English TV channel too. All staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good full buffet but also can order poached/ boiled eggs as well as an egg station. They also serve fried bacon on request and have ham available too. Cappuccino and espresso also available to order without extra charge. Atmosphere around the hotel is good and you can enjoy the sunset from their their terrace. Also numerous places to chill and sit during the day. Unfortunately only a few of the loungers around the pool catch the sun and some hoggers during the day who leave their things to reserve. However no big deal as tables and chairs on which to sit and catch the sun and dip in the pool. We had a snack lunch and Sunday dinner in the hotel. Both good. Just note that by “squid” with the squid ink pasta, it was actually octopus which was good. A table magician was in attendance at Sunday dinner (don’t come too late or you may miss him) and he was at the Manager’s drinks party on Wednesday which was most enjoyable with small eats too. Cleaning was good and the evening scent on the pillow was nice. We had the hammam and massage. Next time, I would just have the massage although if you like steam rooms, it was nice and private with no sharing required. Location is good although note that it is in the Kasbah area so nearer to Saadian tombs and Al Bahia palace then Jemna el Fenna (Main Square) which takes 15-20 minutes walk. We ate nearby at Cafe Clock and a great street food charcoal kebab place diagonally opposite La Sultana Riad passageway. The street food place is not open on Friday but otherwise the place most locals went to; can’t miss all the cars parked outside it. We had 4 chicken and 4 sheesh kebabs, stewed beans, olives, chilli sauce and 3 breads for MAD 60. Note no cutlery so eat the beans with bread or bring a spoon. They also have grilled hearts and liver but we didn’t try although everyone around us was eating these. I suggest you try a mixture first and then reorder what you liked most. The chicken was the best for us. I would recommend taking their taxi drivers. Maybe more expensive depending on your bargaining skills but definitely worth it. I left my phone in a taxi and the doorman called him and returned later that evening.

Thank you for sharing such a detailed and insightful review of your experience at our house. We are thrilled to hear that you found our riad to be excellent, and that you enjoyed your stay in a superior patio room. It's great to know that the room amenities, including the Illy coffee machine, contributed to a comfortable experience. We appreciate your positive comments about the friendly and helpful staff, the breakfast options and the pleasant atmosphere around the hotel. Your feedback on the rooftop terrace, sunset views and various areas to relax during the day is valuable, thank you! We apologize however for any inconvenience regarding the loungers around the pool and appreciate your understanding. It's delightful that you enjoyed the magical touches at the sunday dinner and the Manager's drinks party. We take note of your comments on the cleaning, evening scent and your spa experience, and we are glad to know you would recommend our taxi services. Your recommendations for nearby eateries and street food experiences will be appreciated by future travelers. Thank you for choosing Les Jardins de la Medina, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back for another memorable stay.

This was a cross between a Riad and a luxury hotel in all the right ways. You got that traditional feel of Morocco but with the 5 star luxury experience. Everyone described it as an oasis and they are spot on. It’s amazing to see this little retreat in the middle of the chaos. That said, the hotel is within the walls of the “old town” and very different to the newer area of Hirvenage - which is where we ended up walking to for dinner most nights. Hirvenage was like the vegas of Marrakech. Whereas Les Jardin de la Medina is the old world feel. Both amazing in their own right. And although the hotel was wonderful - I am not faulting that, I found it in a quiet but slightly uncomfortable bit of town where there is a lot of rubble on side roads. We had an unfortunate encounter where a drunk local started picking up glass bottles from a nearby skip and throwing them at us. No reflection of the hotel, just be mindful when around the area. That hiccup aside, I would recommend. The staff were lovely and you do truly feel relaxed.

Thank you for your detailed comment! We are delighted to learn that you found Les Jardins de la Medina to be a cross between a Riad and a luxury hotel, providing the perfect blend of traditional Moroccan charm and a 5-star experience. Creating an oasis in the midst of the bustling Medina is what we strive for, and we are very happy that you felt relaxed during your stay. Your observations about the different atmospheres between the old town and the newer area are insightful. We appreciate your recommendation and are grateful for your kind words about our lovely staff. We apologize for the unfortunate but uncommon encounter and appreciate your understanding. Your feedback helps us improve and we hope to welcome you back for another enjoyable stay.

What a great find! We found it quite tricky to pick a Riad type hotel in the Medina for our recent visit but decided on Les Jardins de la Medina and were not disappointed. POSITIVES: Very friendly and helpful staff on the front desk Great location - 20 minute walk from the main square Lovely traditional rooms and beautiful, fragrant gardens around the pool Good breakfasts with mix of local and international offerings Very good value NEGATIVES: Our only negative was on our last evening when we decided to stay in the hotel for dinner having eaten out every other day. We had really high hopes for the meal but were a little disappointed; the food was ok but nothing special and the service was shambolic. Hopefully it was just a one-off and we were unlucky. All in all a great base for a stay and we would not hesitate to reyrun.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share all your moments in our beautiful place. We loved to hear that you discovered our hotel as a lovely sanctuary in the Medina. It's wonderful that you appreciated the friendly and helpful staff, the convenient location, the traditional decor of the rooms and the surrounding exotic gardens. However, not everything was up to your expectations, and we apologize for any disappointment during your dinner on your last evening. Your feedback is valuable and we'll use it to improve. Thank you for making us your choice in the Medina and we look forward to welcoming you back!

This riad is really spacious with large rooms and bathroom. The antique furnishings are charming. The beds are super comfortable. The Concierge staff all speak excellent English and are extremely helpful. All the staff are incredibly friendly and cheerful. We found the food to be so good we rarely ate elsewhere.

I would definitely recommend a visit to Les Jardins de la Medina. My husband and I stayed for 8 nights. The room was very comfortable and quiet; it had an excellent walk-in shower. Upon arrival we were greeted very warmly and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and excellent. The beautiful gardens, pool area and rooftop terrace were superb and a perfect oasis from the busy streets beyond. Location of the hotel within the Medina was very convenient for shopping at the souks and visiting the sites as well as all the restaurants, most places were an easy walk away. I would definitely go back!

Very usefully placed for an easy walk to the main Medina, and an oasis of calm and luxury away from it. The pool was the right temperature, all of the staff friendly and obliging and the breakfast and other food we had of a good quality.

On arrival our first impressions were very good but that is usual in most hotels & first impressions aren’t always long lasting. We had a Solarium Double Room on the 1st floor which whilst adequate was very small, perhaps we should have checked that it was only 28sq metres before booking. They lead you to believe that they will put scent on the pillows at turndown but I think that only got done once or twice in our 7 nights, the beds & pillows were very good though. The service at breakfast & during the day is poor, we often had to get up to find a waiter, the breakfast offering is limited but adequate whilst the lunch offering is expensive with no snacks or sandwiches available until after 3pm so it’s a lunch or wait until 3pm. The front desk staff were very helpful. We ate in the restaurant on our last 2 nights & what a difference to the day service, it was almost as if we were in a different hotel. The food was excellent as was the service, it wasn’t cheap but it was worth every penny. The local lamb shank was superb. We tried the spa & that was a good experience although not mind blowing but nothing to complain about. Everything in the hotel is much more expensive than the surrounding area but maybe that is to be expected. Their foreign exchange rates are not good in comparison to those outside the hotel. They have a couple of regular taxi drivers who seem to service the hotel & they were very good & well worth relying on as they will pick you up & bring you back to the hotel on request which saves haggling with others. The rule of thumb is that a taxi ride is 50 dirhams during the day & 60 at night one way pretty much regardless of how far, within reason. The hotel is very close to the boundary of the Medina, maybe not central enough for some but maybe ideal for those who like a quiet area. Would we stay again….unlikely as we think we could choose better next time now that we know the area better…but we would come back for the restaurant.

We stayed at this Hotel some years ago and from memory it was pretty average. I generally only bother with reviews if I am very or not very happy. This Hotel made us very happy ! From the moment you walk through the door nothing is to much trouble for the excellent smiling staff. My wife now uses a wheelchair much of the time and the room was prefect for our needs. The food is lovely as is the service. My wife enjoyed it that much I could not get her out of the place, so I had to go out a couple of afternoons on my own ! The garden although small is a joy with plenty of casual seating. There are a number of good quality Hotels in Marrakech this is certainly one of them.

Our eighth stay at Les Jardins, a very special place for us. As usual a great experience - all the rooms are lovely and each one is slightly different. The hotel is full of character and in a really good location for exploring the medina whilst not in a very busy area. Brilliant roof terrace and pool, and as usual breakfast by the open fire was very tranquil. Highly recommended.
