We have just spent a wonderful week at the Riad La Maison Rouge. The hotel is a beautiful example of Morroco. I was treated to a 5 day break by a friend and returned this afternoon. On arrival at the airport , we were met by a driver and taken to the riad and despite sunday being the managers day off we were warmly and professionally welcomed by the staff. I'll start by stating it's approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the main attraction of El Jema Fina, depending on your walking speed. We actually thought it would be further out than that. Public transportation is nowhere to be found so walking is the best way to get around the city. We felt safe at all times of the day... more

On arrival the "road" to the riad was a little concerning as was little more than a dirt track, a little concerning start to our honeymoon. However once inside fears dissapeared, this riad is beutiful, the staff can't do enough to make you comfortable, I've no idea when they actually sleep. The Riad was spectacular when you manage to actually find it. We spent 4 days here, with local friends, and no one managed to find the address easily. The service was adequate, unfortunately the manager made some inappropriate comments to more than one of the women staying with our group which made them very uncomfortable being in the Riad alone.... more
