What a lovely place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle. We had asked Thierry to organise for the four of us to be collected from the airport - for the reasonable price, this was definitely worth it, especially since it was our first time here. We were met at the airport, driven into the city and shown to... more

January 28th - February 4th 2008 We were a large Norwegian family from Oslo who wanted to experience some of the real Marocco, and celebrate the father/grandfather/father-in-laws 70th birthday. The challenge was to do this on our own, not using a chartered tour. We found the riad Dar Zouar on internett, read some reviews, and decided to rent the entire... more

Stayed here for 4 nights over the Christmas 2007 break. This riad was a calm respite from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. It was nice to be away from the big square and only a ten minute walk to the souks. We travelled with our 2 year old toddler who we felt was not particularly welcomed by the owner... more

Management response from

This couple had a young child and they didn’t seem to realize the annoyance that their son’s screaming was causing on the other guests at a very early time in the morning. This is the reason why I have politely asked them to calm down the child or ask him to speak quietly. However, I am deeply chocked by the...

A really peaceful riad. Thierry was an excellent host, the accommodation was very clean and service was also very good. This was our first visit to Marrakech and in fact we were only staying one night with Thierry before transferring to a different riad (the riad Dar Silsila could not accommodate us for our first night). We got a taxi... more

Having spent hours trawling the internet for suitable Riads I came across Dar Zouar and reading various other reviews on Trip Advisor I decided to book a four night stay to celebrate my Partners 30th birthday. Arrived first thing in the morning and was greeted with mint tea and a warm welcome from Thierry and Abdul. We found them both... more

I have stayed a few time in the pink city of Marrakech before and I was always looking for a calm and charming place to rest for a few days. I say "was" because I think that I have now found the perfect oasis of calm in this charming little guest house. The value for money cannot be better. The... more

Dar Zouar was one of the very best things about our time in Marrakesh. We stayed for over a week and loved the peace, hospitality, laughter and generosity of this Riad. Thierry and all the staff were a delight (try Amina's Tajine for one of the best meals you'll get in Morocco!). Marrakesh is such a crazy show town and... more

I stayed in Dar Zouar in June during 4 nights. I was a little afraid after reading the comments about the location of this guest house. Dar Zouar is not in the touristic and crowded area of Djemaa El Fna, and that's exactly what I loved about this place. If you want to experience the authentic Marrakech, it's the perfect... more

Beautiful riad, very quiet, and the nicest staff! Facilities were excellent and it was a great value. That being said, we just had an impossible time getting back to it at the end of the day. Yes, as the owner pointed out, you can take a petit taxi quite easily to it and for very little money (but take the... more

Great little Riad with excellent staff and facilities. We really enjoyed our stay here and the Manager was very friendly and helpful in giving us advice and directions for getting around. The traditional Moroccan meal (optional) is well worth trying here, with staff eager to help. The Riad is about a 20 minute walk from the main square and lets... more
