Absolute gem in terms of value and comfort. Riad Merstane was indeed a sanctuary after a chaotic day out and about in Marrakech. Though it is situated north of the Medina (and not immediately around the main square), all the main attractions were conveniently close and entirely walkable. In fact, I enjoyed the opportunity to observe the local activity/scenery/culture during... more

From our first e-mail enquiry (answered within hours) to booking us our taxi to the airport, the service at Riad Merstane was flawless. The staff operate in a relaxed, friendly but very efficient manner, nothing is too much trouble. While we were there Kate (one of the owners) happened to be staying and she is an excellent resource for all... more

great stay, great food, friendly genuine staff and a fantastic room and place to stay. Its a pity we were stressed and tired the first day and I was sick the 2nd day!...if it wasn't for the quick reactions of Rachid I fear my situation may have turned out a lot worse...please send he my warmest thanks and please look... more

Travelling with children aged 9 and 13, Riad Merstane was a haven in a friendly, authentic locality of the Marrakech medina. The beds are comfortable, the plumbing works and there are quiet comforts - a well-stocked English language library, card and board games, internet access, a salon, shady nooks and crannies and a huge roof terrace with lovely plants and... more

We stayed in this riad (booked via the HipMarrakech website) for a few days. It is small and homely and full of character, in a non-touristy part of the city. It has a lovely small courtyard, where breakfast (and dinner by request) is served, a first floor sitting room, and a nice roof terrace. The house staff are very helpful,... more

This was a perfect retreat and base from which to discover the city. Room was simple but cosy. Bathroon again simple, but with a fantastically hot shower which we needed. It was a bit cold at night but I think we just didnt pack the right clothes and had a bad spell of weather. Food was AMAZING! Lamb with prunes... more

Myself and a large group of friends stayed at the Riad Merstane recently, on what was my first visit to Marrakech. First impressions on walking into the Riad were how beautiful it is, I had no idea what to expect so was quite taken aback. The Staff were all lovely, Rachid the house manager took us out to the local... more

I recently stayed at the Riad Merstane with a group of friends and had an extremely pleasurable stay at this delightful guesthouse gem. The riad is located in the north of the medina, a 15-minute stroll from the hustle and bustle of the tourist-filled main square (though right on the doorstep of a magical 'locals only' market - Fridays only!).... more

I've recently returned from Marrakesh and stayed at Riad Merstane, what an amazing place!! Rachid the house manager was so helpful and hospitable ,with a fantastic sense of humour. The first night we had a meal in the courtyard of the riad ,it was like being in your own private romantic restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful, all for a ridiculously... more

This Riad was absolutely gorgeous and a welcome, tranquil retreat from all the huslte bustle going on outside! Our rooms were beautiful, and the rest of the riad was just gorgeous. And so peaceful and relaxing. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or done any more for us. They really made our trip more memorable. The food was amazing (and... more
