My stay at Dar Jameel was a disappointment. Although the hotel had only two other guests - it felt empty - I was given a windowless room on the main floor directly off the lobby/reception area. It was dark, noisy, and depressing. As for bath amenities, I was only provided with a tiny bar of soap and some grayish towels.... more

This hotel was the only tolerable thing about Tangiers. The restoration of the building is impressive although our room had large windows on three sides, although there were curtains it did diminish the sense of privacy. The breakfast was very good. On the whole, staff were friendly but it seems that they share details of guests arrival times with local... more

The approach to the hotel was not great but once the front door opened the beauty of the lobby and the view up through the floors was amazing. We were also with two friends who loved it as well. The renovation that Steven the owner has done shows that it has all been worth while and a tribute to his... more

Stayed in old city, Tangier with teenager and 10 year old. City is packed with day tourist from 10:00am until 3:00. Once day tourists are gone, we became the lone foreigners. We seemed to be the only Americans in the area. The locals are slightly pushy but very trustworthy and kind. We enjoyed camels rides on the beach, snake charmers,... more

Ok, maybe it's been around for 2 or 3 years now but it's not well publicized and was lucky enough to stumble on it. Location is perfect for travelers looking to stay within Tangier's medina: close to the gate that takes you toward the beach and harbor. Service was great. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Nice breakfast included in the... more

Truly wonderful Riad in the middle of the Medina. We stayed in one of the suites on the top floor, which was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The staff was welcoming and more than helpful and provided a map of Tangier and recommendations for restaurants. If you have mobility problems avoid the rooms at the top as the stairs are... more

My husband and I spent one evening here while on a 24 hr visit to Tangier after spending several days in Spain. I was so impressed with all of the detail. We stayed in the Bergach Suite, which I knew was on the first floor, but I didn't expect the door to our room to be right in the lobby.... more

My wife and stayed at Dar Jameel while on our honeymoon. It was truly a delightful experience. Tangier can be loud and busy but Dar Jameel was always a quiet retreat. The staff was great! They were always very helpful and friendly. (Thanks, Idris!) I look forward to going back!!! Thanks! more

We loved the place as soon as they opened the door and we saw the magnificent display of tiled light and color. We thought we were in an arabic palace! The tile work is as breathtaking as the Alcazar in Seville, Spain. The rooms were lovely, clean and quiet. The service was excellent. And Idris, the manager, was as kind... more
