A really nice location. Really nice and clean beach! We liked the place very much, unfortunatly the bandas we had was not the best. The matresses was horrible, my fiance got a lot of bedbugbites. Toilets were good and the showers as well. The food wasn't great, either the service - we had to wait 50 minutes for a pancake... More

We just moved to Dar es Salaam from New Orleans, LA, and needed an escape from the city. little did we know we were going to fall in love with a small beach community over at Mikadi camp. Long story short, pack your bags to stay for a while. And please don't pack your good old friend pretentious if you... More

Amazing and idyllic, mikadi beach is a great place to relax! I had planned to stay a few days but stayed 2 weeks! The bandas are simple and comfortable and if you're lucky to get a front one - a beautiful view of the beach! I truly love mikadi for the hospitality , the chilled out environment and the fun... Got there with the intention of staying a day or two, instead was there for 10. The bandas are basic, comfortable to sleep in and clean. The shower area as well as the toilets are clean. The showers are fed by salt water. From some of the previous reviews this seems to be an issue, but I thoroughly enjoyed the... More

Not a good value. Very expensive compared to the poor service and accomodation. Warnings everywhere that it is not safe to walk outside the camp, so you find yourself stuck in "the camp". This makes it very resort-like, but without the service you'd expect from a resort. Very unfriendly staff and owners and not helpful at all. At a certain... More

We stayed here for one night before heading off to Zanzibar. The bandas are basic but more than fine and the bathrooms are well done. The food was ok and the bar area was good for relaxing in. The staff were ok, not overly friendly but were able to answer our questions. The beach is nice although it was very... More

Negative points: ----Salt water showers: fun the first day. If you have sensitive skin, these showers could cause irritations. I dont have sensitive skin, but after having taken a nice saltwater shower in the morning and walking through town, the salt caused a lot of friction "down there". Not a nice experience. At least some time during the day they... More

My partner and I stayed two nights in one of the beach bandas and experienced very poor service and poor quality of accommodation. The bandas have seen better days; despite the camp being pretty empty we were given one next to a worksite, one morning we were told we could not use the banda because they were cutting down a... New owners took over in 2010, friendly but do not expect any thing more than that. There are lots of thing they have to sort out. The showers are okay but water a problem as it's salty. The banda's are okay if you do not expect much but not in good condition. Some are skew or in disrepair. We got... More

Mikadi beach was absolutely excellent! Super location, great staff, the bandas were exactly what we needed, the food was awesome. I definitely highly recommend it! Only minus point could maybe be the saltwater showers if you stay for a week or more, but it didn't bother us at all. Be sure to take a tuktuk from the Ferry though! We... More
