I found this hotel a lovely place to stay. The architecture is incredible; it used to be a Sultan's palace. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were fine. The food was OK, but the ambiance of the dining room was great. The adjoining Dar Cherait museum was very interesting. More

If you are visiting Tunisia in the heat of the summer, look to a more modern facility. This hotel is an attractive architectural curiosity, but if good air conditioning, a pleasant pool, or other modern conveniences are important to you, consider choosing a newer hotel. We found the staff unresponsive, the rooms dark and ugly, and the food mediocre. More

Very nice architechture and a pleasant room. Service was friendly but the bar was uncongenial. All in all, not worth the c.150 quid we paid for our room for one night. More
