This little hotel was charming, the location magical, and the management and staff so gracious. Breakfast croissants and breads rival anything we've had before. The view from the roof romantic. Complimentary fresh squeezed oj at arrival, and late afternoon treats of fresh friut and mineral water a delightful addition. Our "room" was huge with maybe a lttle too much overstuffed... more

Stayed at this gorgeous little hotel in April last year for two nights. We had booked online requesting a particular room but on arrival found we'd been put in another room. We were disappointed at the time but staff happily moved us to our preferred room the next day. Pretty much everything we have to say about this place is... more

I will not be staying at Dar El Medina again: Much as I loved the interior and to some extent the location, I will not give my custom to an establishment/management which shows little integrity or honour in it's relationship with it's customers. In fact. I would go so far as to say that the management here is not trustworthy.... more

I was immediately skeptical of the hotel after realizing that the only route there included a trek through an unpaved, poorly lit, muddy road littered with garbage and teeming with stray cats. However, even that did not compare to the lack of safety we soon felt due to the very poor management of the hotel. We booked through hotels.com and... more

I use Trip Avisor quite a bit, and I am always interested in reviews where a a few really trash a hotel that is viewed by others as quite nice. This is the case with respect to the Dar. If you are interested in being in the thick of things this is the hotel for you. If you want a... more

This hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility. The three of us occupied 2 rooms. Both were wonderful with carpets and fabrics of the country . Even the lack of a lift didnt seem to matter and was anyway quite understandable given the general layout of all these old houses. We could look over the street or just recover... more

I did, as usual alot of research as to where to stay in Tunis. Dar El Medina is quite unique and the only boutique type hotel and the location is perfect as you are in the ancient medina and that was the highlight of Tunis for us. I contacted the hotel long before our stay and actually booked the Douja... more

I don't normally write reviews for hotels, but I feel compelled to gush about this wonderful property in the Tunis medina. Everything about this place exceeded both mine and my wife's expectations. Our room, Douja, was beautiful, and it opened to the pretty courtyard. The easily accessible rooftop was a perfect place to get our bearings after arriving, and the... more

My husband and I really enjoyed this hotel, but it is not for everyone. Those wanting large rooms, bathrobes, multiple restaurants and swimming pools (and have the figures for bikinis) will be happier at the Golden Tulip or La Residencia, but they are located some distance from the central city. We stayed at both before moving to Dar El Medina,... more

We stayed 3 nights at this small hotel. It is a beautiful property elegant in every way. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Its medina location makes walking around the medina easy. Taxis are not allowed to drive in the medina, but this hotel is located an easy 3-block walk from the taxi stand drop off point. The hotel... more
