Even by Luanda prices, this hotel is poor value. The service is not good, food mediocre, a hotel in decline. Hopefully the new hotels opening in the next 12 months will provide better service. Not worth the money. more

This hotel is okay but I'll be happy when there's more choice in Luanda. Its clean and the pool and spa and gym are great. Room service takes a long time and check in and out takes forever. But its okay and good selection of drinks and restaurants. more

I was in Luanda to do a concert in July {the 1st}. The hotel was wonderful albeit a bit pricey in the Bar. The lunch buffet was incredible with chilled Lobster Tails and a huge variety of Western Culinary delights. The rooms were comfortable and the internet service was adequate. I had heard that the Tropico was the best in Luanda and a 4 star property. It is but it is not a Western 4 star. Though the reception staff are overworked--the hotel is very busy with many companies taking block bookings throughout the year to accomodate staff--they try hard as do the rest of the staff.
