The Metcourt Inn, the Walmont Ambassador hotel, the Grand Palm resort as well as the casino and the Gaborone International Convention Centre are one complex and share a very spacious garden. All restaurants and bars are located at the Walmont Ambassador hotel. The Metcourt serves only breakfast with a sufficient selection of food and fruits. The staff at the reception... more

We found the hotel to be much better than the "budget" description. Nice room and all clean and smart. The only facilities are a small bar and buffet breakfast, but the sister hotel on the same site (400m away) has good pool, restaurants etc. Value is comparative, in many places this price for an edge of town would be considered... more

When I stayed everything was clean, room interiors were new, everything worked. It is a budget business hotel so I did not expect or ask anything from the staff. Can be booked online. No complaints, would use it again. Definitely better value than the 4 or 5-star hotels in Gaborone. There is a petrol station just outside the front gate... more

I arrived for three nights tired and hungry and having forgotten that I hadn't paid in advance. Got into an argument at reception who refused to contact my travel agent.. Found their attitude unhelpful - said they were unable to contact UK tel no; offered me a prepaid phone card then said there weren't any available. Had to go to... more

During our recent trip to Gaborone, Botswana our travel agent booked us for a 3 day stay at the Metcourt Inn. We ended up staying an additonal night. The hotel has nice decor. However the room does not include a phone and during our time, we were never able to purchase calling cards from the hotel front desk. They continued... more

This is a budget hotel, and so I expected some budget type things... However, to NOT HAVE A PHONE in the room, I consider to be a major oversight. Also, there was no socket at all in the bathroom, bad if you have a power shaver, of hairdryer you want to use. The room is tiny, the aircon noisy, and... more

Over a period of 3 weeks in Botswana I stayed at this hotel 5 times. Rooms are very basic and the low priced ones are tiny even as a single room. If you have more than an overnight bag there is no room to put a suitcase anywhere. Aircon is terrible, noisy, not efficient. Breakfast is poor and expensive for... more

I stayed at the Metcourt for one night in June on my way through Gaborone. It seems to fill a niche that was completely empty before. I couldn't find a reasonably priced room with the amenities and service of the Metcourt anywhere else in Gaborone. The rooms are new, attractive, and comfortable. That alone would have made me choose to... more
