I stayed at this lodge for 4 nights as part of a group doing gorilla trecking at Bai Hokou, visiting the forest elephants at Dzanga Sangha and hunting with the pygmies.
We arrived in a World Conservationa Society (WCS) pirogue: 8 hours up river from Ouesso in Republic of Congo, an overnight at the WCS Camp at Bomassa and a further 6 hours upriver to Doli Lodge. The river trip is very restful with Cameroonian rain forest on one side, and CAR on the other-- though surprisingly little bird life. It's also possible to drive 12 hours to the lodge from Bangui. There is one bad stretch close to the lodge but otherwise the road is supposed to be okay. In the past there have been a lot of checkpoints on this road, each extracting payment, but this is apparently not the problem it used to be.
Doli Lodge offers 5 bungalows which each have two rooms. There are three beds in each room and they have en suite faciities. Management is currently building more bungalows so it...
