Addis isn't blessed with a great choice of hotels for business travellers. The Sheraton is full of people from UN and associated agencies and it's overpriced for what it is, but it's clean, the food isn't bad and the service is okay. That's it, really. It's okay. Not great -- but where else are you going to stay? The Hilton?... more
Pros: The best of everything. Every amenity you could imagine. Cons: Once inside hotel perimeter, you could be in any major city in the world. Luxurious but generic. High security isolates guests from the "real" Ethiopia. more
We traveled to Addis for the purpose of adoption. We spent 4 nights in the hotel and thought the staff was second to none. The pool area is wonderful. The rooms were very well appointed. Breezes restaurant was perfect for the kids. As with any hotel of this calibur, it isn't cheap, but there were a few less expensive options... more
We spent two weeks in Ethiopia and 3 nights were at the Sheraton. It's a superb hotel and we enjoyed our stay there the best of all. The room was very clean and well appointed. We liked the spaciousness, cleanliness and large bathroom the best. The service from the staff was great, too. My disappointments are a bit picky, but... more
I travel to Addis quite frequently and love being at this hotel. Although, this hotel is over the top for its location, its nice to come back to a comfortable place after a long day. The staff are very friendly however they don't allow you to bring food from the outside (very cranky about leftovers). The pool and spa are... more

This Hotel has a special welcome area at the airport and transport you for free to the Hotel by Mini Bus. We actually book this Hotel for one night, with a corporate discount but liked it so much that we stay the whole week because the other Hotels couldn’t match it, when we check them out. The rooms with balcony... more

It was a memorable occasion for me to stay at Sheraton Addis. The room is very clean, lien and towels always fresh. Above all the staff (from housekeeping, bar, front desk, pool area, you name it) very friendly and professional. For me it was an awesome home away from home. As far as price is concerned, I thought it a... more

Stayed a few days in this big Ethiopian hotel. We had a warm welcome, although it was very busy when we arrived at the hotel. Luxury is what you see when you arrive. Not only the drive, but also the entrance, the big stairs, the lobby, the corridors and the room Luxury all over. and that is a big contrast... more
Dear Tripadvisor member, We are delighted to read your review on Trip Advisor and that you enjoyed your stay at the Sheraton Addis. We are fortunate to be in a destination which is very busy with international conferences and this keeps our hotel associates very busy all the time! It is encouraging to us that you noticed the effort of...
The Sheraton is like a mirage in the midst of poverty. You drive thru slums and suddenly, oasis-like, the gates open and and you enter a first-world city within a third-world environment. The place can only be described as opulent. No expenses have been spared. The contrast with the surrounding corrugated iron huts and mud paths can hardly be bigger.... more
