Addis isn't blessed with a great choice of hotels for business travellers. The Sheraton is full of people from UN and associated agencies and it's overpriced for what it is, but it's clean, the food isn't bad and the service is okay. That's it, really. It's okay. Pros: The best of everything. Every amenity you could imagine. Cons: Once inside hotel perimeter, you could be in any major city in the world. Luxurious but generic. High security isolates guests from the "real" Ethiopia. more

We traveled to Addis for the purpose of adoption. We spent 4 nights in the hotel and thought the staff was second to none. The pool area is wonderful. The rooms were very well appointed. This Hotel has a special welcome area at the airport and transport you for free to the Hotel by Mini Bus. We actually book this Hotel for one night, with a corporate discount but liked it so much that we stay the whole week because the other Hotels couldn’t match it, when we check them out. The Sheraton is like a mirage in the midst of poverty. You drive thru slums and suddenly, oasis-like, the gates open and and you enter a first-world city within a third-world environment.
