This is a tired Hotel in serious need of refurbishment, the food is not great. Possibly the least natural tasting "orange juice" I have ever tasted - more like a cordial. But the biggest issue is the location right next to an open square used as a public market. At night - all night there was loud music and shouting... more
This has to be the worst hotel experience EVER! I've changed rooms 3 times, broken beds, broken showers, the room literally flooded while I was in the shower, the 3rd bed had no sheets and when they brought them to me, they were stained, the A/C didn't work. The food isn't any better - if you're an American - DON'T... more
Standard-issue business hotel. You can't tell that you're in Accra. For some, this will be a selling point, for others, a bit unsettling. Free wireless. The restaurant is acceptable but offers a limited selection. Convenient downtown location (and near to the craft market). Nice pool. Safe and secure in a vaguely anodyne way... more
My niece and I stayed here the day before we were beginning our extended trip back to the United States. We have used Novotel Hotels in Europe so it was comforting to be met with the same Quality and Service that were are accustomed to. The staff are exceptional could not do enough to make you feel welcome. Certainly did... more
I stayed at this hotel from March 1 for 4 nights. Starting with the positive points, the pool area is pleasant and the staff from room service, laundry etc were friendly. Staff at reception were pleasant and polite, although not particulary effiicient. e.g. it took the entire length of my stay for them to find the 7 + emails sent... more
We had a great experience with the Novotel Accra City Centre in February 2009. Good value, and pleasant helpful, flexible staff. We had a successful 1.5 day conference and everyone was happy with the results. Hotel is great for downtown Accra, a quiet convenient haven with a lovely outdoor pool and patio, and modest but decent rooms. Not as luxurious... more
Please don't stay at the Novotel in Accra. I had US$500, plus R270 South African stolen out of my room whilst I was at Breakfast. It was the only time that everything was not in the safe. The cleaners asked for access. The hotel management flatly refuse to take any responsibility, neither does Novotel head office. Clearly they do nothing... more
After a challenging night at the Niagara Hotel Plus without running water, we started to look around the Osu district for another hotel. We must have checked around eight different hotels. The Nova Hotel (one block north of Frankie's) was the best value we could find. We had a large bright room with a beautiful view of the city and... more
Stayed at Novotel for 2 weeks having stayed at 2 other hotels in Accra (African Regent and La Palm), and I must say I rate the Novotel above the other two for a number of reasons. Firstly location - for me, it was 10 mins drive to my office so was very good vs the Regent and La Palm which... more
