Having previously lived in Accra and worked on accomodation for others, there are not a ton of great choices -- either hotels are very expensive or you wouldn't want to stay there. Mahogany Lodge is the exception. The rates are reasonable and the amenities are fantastic. Rooms are average, but the power doesn't go out and the water is hot.... more

I fully concur with earlier reviews. Excellent small, quiet , extremely well looked after boutique hotel with good security , good wireless internet, excellent food and service. Homely atmosphere. Staff were forever cleaning ! But only 14 rooms so book early. more

Good service, good food in restaurant. Chose it because it was close to US Embassy and near airport. But traffic in Accra is terrible so nothing is close. more

I was in Ghana for business. I did know what to expect from reviews at Tripadvisor but still if it is the first time you visit Ghana you really don't know. The shuttle bus was on time at the correct place and I had now difficulties to find it. At arrival all things was in place and I feel welcome.... more

This is a small hotel (12 rooms ) in quiet but central area of Accra . rooms are solid and comfortable with firm beds and excellent showers .Prices may be expensive by Accra standards ( I have nothing to compare but at $140 per night including breakfast i seemed good value . The pool is small but adequate and it... more

We had the opportunity to stay at the Mahogany Lodge, from 12/24-12/27 and 12/29-1/2/08. They provide pick-up service from the airport, however unfortunately when we left the airport 1 1/2 hours after our flight arrived, (clearing customs and 2 pieces of lost luggage), there was no one there to meet us. My cell phone was not working, but a kind... more

I've stayed at the Mahogany Lodge multiple times between since 2006. Regretfully, the quality of the hotel seems to be on the decline. At the same time, prices have also increased. I've noticed a lot of small changes for the worse. Hot water in the shower now lasts less than five minutes. Room service meals are smaller and more expensive.... more

We initially planned to stay in the Mahogany Lodge only four nights, but it was so nice that we extended our stay to a week. The Mahogany Lodge is a not quite luxurious hotel, but with service and genuine friendliness that far exceed most hotels in in Europe or the USA. For example, we arrived at 8 a.m. on Easter... more

At the risk of overuse of the term "find", it has to be applied to the Mahogany Lodge. Stayed a day and a half and did not want to leave. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, from the housekeepers to the front desk to the restaurant crew. Winner of Accra Tourism Association Newcomer award (2005, 2006). Felt more like staying in... more

This is a place that you will never hate. You have to experience it to feel it. What a great service, the staff are very friendly and ready to answer all your inquiries. The lodge itself is a lovely place, it's a kinda a colonial Villa with a beautiful design. The rooms are nice and clean with TV and A/C... more
