Stayed for 1 night at start of trip and 3 nights at end of trip around Ghana. The room given at the start of trip was shabby with cracks down the walls and no hot water but had AC. The room given at the end of the stay was better standard, large room, tiled floor with AC and hot water... more

I went to Ghana to see relatives and travel around the country so stayed at a variety of hotels throughout the country, I booked this hotel because of the excellent reviews on trip advisor and really wish I hadn't bothered. The reception staff were particularly unhelpful, especially on check out when the receptionist was downright rude - we paid for... more

+ near the ocean (no city noice) + central location + very good food and fast food preparation + room was very clean (for Ghana standards!) +/- furniture only ok - standard breakfast is poor - it is only 1-2 Stars in western standards more

I stayed at Afia with colleagues recently on a visit to Accra. I thought the staff was pleasant and welcoming. The food was great, I thought the rooms were not great, there was no hot water in my room. What I struggled with was the incompetence of one of the managers who happened to lack any basic respect for guests,... more

I stayed at Afia African Village for 5 nights in a standard room and had no problem with the basic room; it was a bit musty though. I really liked the overall landscaping, design, and eco-village feel of Afia. The Tribes restaurant was EXCELLENT. That said, my room didn't seem well maintained--the air conditioner leaked all throughout my stay, there... more

My stay at AFIA beach side resort was comfortable. I enjoyed the beach, although areas adjacent to the beach had quite a bit of litter. As a chef, I thoroughly enjoyed all of my meals at the hotel restaurant, Tribes. I found the owner, Kofi, to be super friendly and an excellent chef. The hotel is about 5 or 10min... more

Really liked my stay there. It is a quiet and nice location where you always have a breez from the see. I think it is more then a bargain for the price and has improved every time I have been there. As long as you do not expect to go and swim in the sea (beach isn't so nice) I... more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the food was awesome! Classy decor and landscaping; I was pleasantly surprised. The open restaurant, Tribes, over looking the rocky shore, provided great and welcoming service and atmosphere for enjoyment and relaxation. I really appreciated the accommodating attitude of the restaurant staff. I would strongly advised anyone staying there... more

This hotel consists of a collection of 'huts' and is so different from faceless, boring business hotels and cheaper too. Rooms were spacious and clean and although we didn't have a sea view it didn't really matter. Restaurant was great- we ate there two nights out of three- and the staff were efficient and friendly. Although not right in the... more

Afia is foreign co-owned and it shows! Design, service and attention to detail are all very good. Rooms are spacious and well-furnished cottages under palm trees, directly adjoining the beach. The beach looked too dirty for swimming but that doesn't stop the locals on the weekend. The location is within walking distane of the crafts market and city centre, and... more
