If you have to go to Conakry then i suppose this is the best (of not very many) bunch. Hotel room was very basic, no towels, light in toilet didn't work, landline telephone didn't work, Mobile Phone didn't work:-) This is West Africa at it's worse. Your better off buying a local Sim to contact the outside world!! There is... more

Travel to Conakry will be an adventure to be sure. Make sure you have a driver or guide arranged to get you around and even to help you at the airport when you leave. This is not a place you want to just explore. Everything, from the airport, utilities, and the general infrastructure, is third world. If you only speak... more

This is the best hotel in the capital. Location wise is superb as it is very near the different govenrment ministries offices. Don't expect good rooms. Instead, you get brownish bath towels, spoilt TV remote control, no bottled water etc. But the breakfast is surprisingly good. There are a few rooms with good sea view, while the rest face the... more

I stayed in this Hotel from 7 Feb 2009 to 13 Feb 2009. It was better than expected, but still not up to standard. Considering that it is in Africa, and the ONLY hotel in Conakry that you can stay in, it was not too bad. The Hotel needs some TLC, the rooms does smell a bit musty as it... more

The worst hotel I have stayed in for many years. Scruffy, dirty, grungy. You think twice before walking in bare feet in the bedroom, and worry about how clean the sheets are. The bathrooms have dirty shower curtain, old towels, ancient plumbing. Safe-deposit box in the room does not work. The phone in the room does not work for international... more

I was there for one month from 15 June 08. The rooms are not too bad if you choose the sea side, the town side is noisy with the power engines functioning almost all day and night long. I agree with a former comments, that the carpets are dirty. The food and drinks prices are too high compare to the... more

Rooms are average - TV channels mostly French, with CNN the only English news channel . There is a safe in the room, and a small bar fridge. No free bottle of water - cheapskate! Food is expensive - breakfast buffet about 20Euro, average entree 15Euro, no variation, no snack menu anywhere. Cocktails fiercely expensive!! Bank-breaking stuff. I found the... more

The bedding and towels were clean but the carpet was dirty and burnt from cigarettes. There was plenty of choice of hot and cold foods at the buffet breakfast. I enjoyed my only evening meal and the service was good. One complaint was the warm beer. The staff were helpful especially as I am not a French speaker. The security... more

I stayed here for one night in December 2004 while waiting to go to Freetown, Sierra Leone. The hotel is old and the rooms are small. I will say the room was very clean, but the towels were dirty. If you do not speak French there may be some translation issues, but you'll be able to manage. There is a... more
