There have been mixed reviews of Monrovia and this hotel, but the place is definitely improving. The room is clean, fresh towels every day and the A/C works very well. We were a large medical team who came in from the States and Wael and his team were outstanding in helping us coordinate all our needs for a two week period. The rooms were clean, airconditioned, the food terrific especially the Lebanese specialties! we have to stay in royal hotel, because other hotels are full. rooms are dirty and I think the oldest rooms in monrovia. furnitures are old. beds are old. bathroom is old. no soap no shampoo no curtain no napkins. room has tv but its only tv. ıts not working. behind the hotel there is a restaurant. foods are good.... more

While most travellers seem to laud The Royal I feel it necessary to speak the truth...while it has it's high points (the restaurant in back is good, skip the free breakfast though) the hotel itself is less than stellar.
